Since then I've painted a lot of new models, especially for my Horus Heresy World Eater army, that I would like to show you. WilhelMiniatures Posted January 23, 2015 Author Share Posted January 23, 2015 Thanks guys! For those of you who asked about the white: It was done with a base coat of Mechanicus Standard Grey. Then I sprayed the model with a light coat of Skull White (just from a Skull White spray can, no airbrush was used), at a 45 degree angle. This cot was very lightly applied, to prevent the model from becoming white in the areas of shade. I sprayed it again, this time directly above, to give it another highlight. The White was then washed with a mix of Lahmian Medium and Nuln Oil. This has to be a thin wash, only to hit the recessed areas. I sponged the model lightly with white, to give another highlight on the sharpest edges, and start the weathering process. The model was then lightly sponged with black, dark grey and dark brown on the same areas to give the armour a more worn appearance. The Blood was done with Blood for the Blood God and Abaddon Black. I used a sponge to active this effect. I don't blend the paints before applying them. I just put a drop of each on my palette, and sponge them on the miniature at he same time. This will blend the colours some places, giving a variety of shades in the blood. Don't use too much black though. I'm thinking of doing a tutorial for my World Eaters soon.
