Scions of the Primarchs

Greetings proud members of Bolter and Chain-sword, I wanted to talk about something me and a few friends have been working on. Scions of the Primarchs, or Sons and Daughters of the Primarchs.

It's a little thing we call Heirs of the Legiones. A sort of Game of Thrones-y type of store. One of war, politics, and betrayal.

Currently we've written up some profiles of these Scions, here's a few of our favorites:

Rogal Dorn's Scions (These guys where written by my good friend Justin, he'll be doing Imperial Fists)

Alaheid Dorn

Alaheid has shoulder-length brown hair and her father's piercing ice-blue eyes.

Rogal Dorn firstborn child, and only known daughter, Alaheid Dorn is an almost perfect copy of her father's temperament and ideals. Honest to a fault, Alaheid's zeal for the cause of the Great Crusade is only outmatched by her father's, and loyalty and duty to her are as vital as blood or breath.
Unyielding on both offense and defense, Alaheid fights with all the brilliance expected of a scion of Dorn. Privately, she grouses that the reason she must be the perfect child is because her siblings are anything but.
She wields the power sword Judgment and the inferno pistol Retribution into battle.

Cailan & Alistair Dorn

Cailan & Alistair Dorn are identical twins, both sharing short, unkempt brown hair and calculating ice-blue eyes.
The twins could not be more different from their father. In fact, there are a handful of people who speculate that they might not even be Dorn's sons at all, for their actions seem to reflect those of their uncle, Alpharius, more than any.
Their tactics are reflective of their personalities. Guile, traps and other chicanery lead their enemies into ambushes, where in battle, they are destroyed with ruthless efficiency. Out of battle, it results in humiliation on the part of their target more often than not, though they've yet to successfully prank several of their cousins. They also derive great enjoyment out of teasing their cousins, siblings, and even each other regarding topics they know will embarrass them.
Cailan arms himself with the sniper rifle Archangel, and Alistair carries the Honor Blades the Phantom's Vindication with him to war.

Malcolm Dorn

Malcolm Dorn is the spitting image of his father, with the same short, military-short bone-white hair and ice-blue eyes.
The last child born to Rogal Dorn’s wife before her death, Malcolm Dorn was the only child to inherit his father's bone-white hair. This has led some to referring to him as "Dorn the Younger," though he often states that title ought to go to Alaheid, since he isn't his father.
In battle, Malcolm is a force to be reckoned with, by both his enemies and his allies. He has no compunctions about using any means at his disposal to complete his objective, be it through cunning, underhanded blows, outright abandonment of the plan, or even allying with xeno forces to root out his true opponent – before destroying his former "ally" after he's done.
This mercenary attitude towards warfare has won him little friends amongst his uncles and cousins – or even a good part of the Imperium, but true to form, he doesn't care. Any who protest too loudly find themselves facing Requiem, a Paragon Blade of masterwork quality he carries with him everywhere. In spite of this, he remains one of the most disciplined soldiers of the Imperial Fists.

Leman's Own (Still working on all his kids, have any suggestions I'm all ears)

Tyra Russ:

Her red hair and green eyes make Tyra very much a Daughter of Leman, however they often do not see eye to eye. Leman often chastises her for her obsession with the hunt and the chasing of prey no matter what it is or what it can do. It has earned her a many of wounds but she endures. She however also shares a connection with him as well. Upon her arrival to the Fang a Rune Priest took her aside; he explained to her that she and her father were much alike in more ways than blood, it was also in their Wyrd or fate. Her fate, was to be the All Fathers (the Emperors) headsmen. This weighed heavily on her as she knew what that meant; she would have the blood of Scions on her hands.
Often on the back of her Thunder Wolf she leads groups of Thunder Wolf Cavalry into dangerous areas of the battlefield, were outrider bike squadrons cannot safely maneuver. Her secondary role is Headsmen, cutting down enemy commanders and breaking elite units before they can become a threat.
She wields a Power Sword she calls ‘Winters Edge’ and carries a Master Crafted Bolter called ‘The Long Fang’.

Balder Russ:

Being one of the greatest Rune Priests within the Space Wolves Balder has problems with his psychic ability. Though often ignored by his father Leman has shown affection, though be it awkward and brief, Balder still loves his father. However many say his mentor and father figure is Ake the Storm Caller who took Balder under his wing.
Balder came out of this a stronger man, one who has led Great Companies into battle in the Vanguard. Calling forth blistering, blinding, blizzards to aid his Wolf brothers.
Wielding a Force Staff and a Bolt Pistol Baldar is a terror on the field, not to be underestimated.

Asger Russ:

Often called ‘Leman’s Right Hand’ Asger is Leman’s Second in Command and often found within Leman’s own vanguard. With his Long Fire Red Hair and piercing blue eyes many would say he is Russ’s closest son. However to others he’s little like his father. Tyra best said it describing as ‘All of the traits of a Russ, none of the Chrisma.’. He’s lacking for compassion for his own troops and a lack of respect for any outside the Space Wolves has made him arrogant to outside influence.
On the field Asger is known for his brilliant planning, able to think rapidly he’s been know to able to switch tactics on the fly able adept to any situation. This aided by his bloody mindedness, wanting to kill, maim, and burn as many of his foes as possible.
Wielding the mighty Spear of Russ, a gift from his father, and a plasma pistol he’s prowles on the field is only matched by his father.

Mortarion’s failure.

Corydalis, the shame of Barbarus.

Mortarion was never married. He tried several times to create children in synthetic wombs, or with surrogate mothers, but none of his progeny survived infancy. None survived, except for one little girl. Blessed with her father’s strength and endurance, as well as his resistance to the powers of psykers, she was also beautiful, graceful, zealous, and faithful. Her physicality was akin to her father, but that was where their similarities ended. Corydalis was disgusted by her father and his contempt for humans and his hatred for the Emperor. She left the the Death Guard before her eleventh birthday, she hopped a ship, and travelled to the courts of Terra. There she met one Astartes who shared her convictions and faith in the emperor, Sigismund, First Captain of the Imperial Fists. She presented herself to him as a supplicant wishing to become his squire, which was a disguise that no one was fooled by. It was obvious by her giant stature that she was a scion, and clearer still that she was Mortarion’s daughter, but Sigismund saw in her what no one else did, a strong arm and a passionate heart. Without any council he accepted her offer, and took her to the medicae to receive the black carapace, and to the Master of the Forge for armor.
She eventually served by Alaheid Dorn during the Great Crusade, serving as her second in command and bodyguard. She weirds a massive power axe called ‘Knights Bane’.

annnnnnnd my personally favorite

Angron’s Scion(s) (Still haven't deiced if there will be more)

Domitia the Carcharodon

Mother of the Carcharodons, Captain of the 5th Company

“From this day, till your last, you shall be my sons. You shall be my Carcharodon’s. We shall hunt the enemies of Man down, we shall not rest, we shall not stop, we shall not fall, till Mankind’s foes are but blood, gore, and armor. We are Mankind's Final Solution, we are it’s War Dogs, sent to slaughter the most vile of creatures.”
-Domitia the Carcharodon, upon her first battle as commander of the 5th company.

Angron never married, nor ever had a lover. However he did have sexual encounters. It was through the need to sire other gladiators that Domitia was born. Her black hair and brown eyes, made her resemble her mother in more ways. Born to a house servant Domitia lived in seclusion, working as she did with her mother. Unlike the others that were born Domitia retained much of her primarch physiology without issue, but she was a women, because of this, and forbidden to enter the arena. Thus she lived with her mother working alongside her.
However it soon came apparent that things weren't going well. Stricken ill due to the stress of carrying a scion of a primarch Domitia’s mother, Ashima, became sicker, and sicker. Eventually her master deiced her illness was making her more of a hindrance and ordered her to be ‘put down’. Domitia, though only ten years old, attempted to halt the killing of her mother, but was too late. She ravaged the house, killing nearly a score of armed guards before she was subdued.
She was then chained, and then sent to the arena. Slaves on Nuceria that rebled where harshly dealt with. Domitia was to be fed to a massive serpent called, a ‘Sand Dragon’. Given only a fail to defend herself she fought the Sand Dragon for nearly an hour. Domitia was nearly defeated, had she not stumbled across a buried axe from a long forgotten battle in the arena. When the Sand Dragon came to strike, she smashed one of it’s eyes with her fail, forcing it to recoil in pain. She wasted no time and struck with her axe, opening it’s stomach. Domitia then entered into a frenzy, hacking, slicing the massive serpent till it was nothing but gore, and scales. She lived, and now she was an exception, a female gladiator.
As time passed she became a famous one, named the ‘Carcharodon’ for her famous blood frenzy whenever blood was shed, she slew dozens of gladiators and scores of beasts. Though she did not care for such a life, she wished for the simpler life, she wished to be free, she wished to be away from what seemed to be a meaningless existence. Eventually she found a way out, she made a deal, she would challenge Angron, her father, to a fight to the death. If she succed, it was agreed she would be freed. If she failed, she would die in the arena.
The great moment came, father vs daughter. The climatic battled lasted nearly three days. Eventually Domitia was taken down, but not killed. Instead she awoke to find her father and two of her brothers, Argos, and Tiberius. She was to be included in Angron’s plan; to overthrow the masters, to win the slaves freedom, or die trying. Domitia was suspicious but joined as the prospects of freedom resonated with her. The campaign went well, until Angron vanished. With no clear leader the rebellion collapsed.
Domitia fought for as long as she could, watching her brothers be slaughtered before her. She too thought she was about to die, until she encountered her uncle, Corvus Corax. Corvus had taken a pity upon the world, but was too late to save the rebels, all but one, Domitia, lived. She was taken by Corvus and lived with him for nearly a decade. She was given the opportunity to leave, to live free like she wished. However she had developed a bound to Corvus. Unlike Angron, Corvus truly seemed to care for mankind, she now had purpose. She wished to be a liberator, to emulate her uncle Corvus, through the rage of her father. She stayed, and learned the Axioms of the Raven Lord. When she returned to her father, Angron was disgusted.
Angron believed she should’ve died, like her brothers, that she fled like a coward. As such she sent her to die. Her first command was of the World Eaters 5th Company. With only two hundred Astarte left, the 5th was thought to be on the brink of death. Worst they were to be the anvil for an Ork horde to slam itself upon. When she assumed command Domitia swore to her ‘sons’ she would not let them die, not this day. The Orks came, thousands upon thousands of them. She used their size against them. Luring them into a killing ground she forced them to attack in small concentrated units. She made use of the 5th Companies remaining biker squads and Assault Squads to make quick, devastating blows and then fall back luring the Orks into another killing field. The tactic worked, the Orks eventually were forced to withdraw, right into the rest of the World Eaters.
With her first victory, Domitia went on to lead her ‘Carcharodons’ on several other campaigns, using her unorthodox methods to win several impossible victories. Though this impressed Angron, his distrust, and disappointment lingered, the two never growing close. Even the 5th grew apart from the legion, many within her First Cohort changed there sigils to the pale carcharodon to reflect their admiration of there ‘Mother of Carcharodons’.
Domitia’s weapons were ones gifted to her from Corvus Corax, who had them forged by Ferrus Manus. She wielded the ‘Axe of the Red Sands’ a deadly power axe, which rivaled Gore Father in terms of lethality, and her Fail, the ‘Fail of the Carcharodon’, a power fail which Domitia was able to spin at such great speeds she could use it to deflect blows in close combat with it.
