What do you think - that Abaddon will start running after everyone who says 'no' or 'f..' to him? He simply will spend all his time doing that. And nobody will follow him after that for sure. Any opinions would be much appreciated. Abbadon's portrayal in ToH is a lot more nuanced than previous iterations of him. He's no longer the choleric First Captain whose first answer is always violence but a wiser warrior tempered by his pilgrimage through the Eye. I imagine warlords flock to him out of respect for his martial ability, look for kinship in his brotherhood, and believe in his vision of a destiny free from distant fathers. I doubt many would choose to depart from his legionl Because it's 30-32k. And in W40k he is a choleric dick - just read the last part of 'Red Path' by Dows. He sacrificed his own terminator bretheren putting the, between Gorechild. And his bodyguard were standing and watching - cause he is such a shiny master, so loveble and likeable, lol. He sacrificed his bretherens to make pact with de, he sacrificed 'his friends' to get powerful artifacts, he sacrificed warlords to prove a point - A POINT to loyal SM. ADB has only written 40k abandon ince from the perspective of a night lord who would disagree with the Sky being blue if anyone but Kurze told him so. I think that, given people's perception of the character (and we have spoke long about how justified or unjustified that perception may be) BL needs to be more careful. Make the benefits tangible. Without that it's just berzerkers cutting off heads, tzeentch betraying people pointlessly, nurgle being gross, and noise marines going to naughty websites. If you ask any SM in the Eye of Terror - will you follow Abaddon in 30-32k most of them probably will say 'yes'. In W40K - that includes a lot of thought process where to hide, and how to run. It's like Abaddon made evolution from unthinking loyal son and choleric (let's kill everything) first captain in HH to thoughtful and considerate warband/company/Bl Legion commander in 30-32k and then regressed to his selfish HH self in W40K. A day from World Eater life - wake up, clean the chainaxe, find nicely looking skull, chop the head, go to short sleep - day ends. A day from Tzeentchian CSM - wake up, reread a book, bind a daemon, start preparing a ritual, convert with daemon - day ends. A day of Nurgle CSM - never slept, squize the bubonic growth in your guts, smile, squize it again, smile - say ty to Grandpa and go gardening. IronDrake28 Posted November 16, 2016 Share Posted November 16, 2016 I dunno, with Tzeentch you can enjoy researching and discovering things about the arcane, with Nurgle you're generally happy and just want hugs/more time gardening, and with Slaanesh...well they have a lot of 'fun' all that time. Khorne though, is literally just for psychos. I'd love to see some more Khorne followers who go down the path of honour and glory more than chop-hack-slice all day. The bolter porn is awful and represents something like 80% of the whole "story". His Khârn, just like his Abaddon are retarded meatheads that simply don't fit in the setting since they'd be dead by 40k. But honestly, every character around is a spectacular failure at building something interesting. Which is sad. Because I paid for that. Not for the mindless bolter porn which got tedious super fast. I don't really understand how it managed to get published. Well. I've learned my lesson. I'll never buy something not made by AD-B when it comes to Black Library.
