Inquisitorial Gunship/Guncutter

Recommended Posts

As you know, I'm building an Ordo Xenos Strike Force, aiming for Apocalypse size at some point, with a company of Storm Troopers and a Deathwatch Contingent.

For this future Strike Force, I've been playing with the idea of building a Gunship or Guncutter for my Inquisitor as his personal transport.

The Inquisitor runs a fairly small crew, consisting of: 1 Pilot, 1 Sage, 2 Assassins, 2 "Gunmen", and he has an Interrogator that usually deploys alongside the Storm Troopers.

And here's the question: What kin of ship would such an Inq. run with? I know they could in theory own just about anything they want, but what is realistic? also what ships rules would fit, and what kind of flyer could be used as a base for said ship?

Feel free to discuss, the best idea will be build this year by me :D

If its intended to be like Eisehorn's Gun Cutter, I always imagined it to be something roughly on the scale of a Thunderhawk. The thing is capable of void combat and has at least two decks, although it lacks the heavy 'main gun' of an actual thunderhawk.

Hey guys, the idea was a count-as model, basically a custom gunship. I just saw a pic today of the Sokar pattern Stormbird, and now I need to see the rules for that, though a Count-as Thunderhawk without the main cannon sounds pretty good too.. :/ hard choice..

Think I misread the question.

If you're looking for a transport vehicle in game for your Inquisitor then only the Valkyrie works as the others aren't dedicated transports, if you just want a flyer any of them will do.

Hi

The Storm Eagle is the best looking, and is pretty kill-y. Also, now that it's easier to transport allies, you can run the Roc pattern without having to worry about taking Minotaurs, for super power armour murdering capabilities.

My assumption is that your Inquisitor and his team will be riding with the Deathwatch, of course. In theory such a vessel would have enough capacity for both a squad of marines and a squad of other infantry, although in practice, of course, you wouldn't be able to take two units in one vessel...

Unless it's a super-heavy transport, which brings us back to the thunderhawk.
