Winter war! Death Korps of Krieg & Knight Titan

Fulfilling a long standing dream of building a Death Korps army. I wanted to do something different from the usual trench warfare scheme for mine and since I decided to do my Space Wolves with snow bases I went with a winter camouflage theme.

My first DKoK model. I wanted to test a white-wash camouflage for the tank. Went a bit to heavy with the white and the underlying camouflage is almost completely lost. Lots of fun to try out pigments and oil paint.

I've used layers of washes over a white basecoat for the most parts. It would be easy to do the model completely white but that would be a bit boring, right? smile.png

And some allied heavy firepower.

Started with the weathering. Still lots to do.

Oh wow. That's one of the best knights I've seen so far. Seriously. I love the chevron and white band markings, and the scratching and weathering are superb. Next to your DKoK (I think the white wash is right on, actually, don't change a thing) it will both pop because of the colors while at the same time blend in wonderfully because of the weathering.

Very, very nice work.

@JeffTibbetts

Thanks! The Knight Titan is a great model to weather with all the large surfaces and great details.

@Mehman

Thanks! Washing in the colours is a very fun way to paint but it takes a lot of patience. I do it quite quickly on the standard troops and try to put a little more work into special minis.

Thanks to being challenged by Red Skullz in Augustus' Arena I managed to prime and put down the initial basecoat on all my DKoK models.

The end result of the challenge. I'm going to use colour to identify different infantry platoons and paint their shoulder pads that colour.
