Skrall Posted February 21, 2015 Share Posted February 21, 2015 Now i've seperated this out from my casternalls project because it's been slightly upscaled by a rescent development.Basically i'm an iron warrior to my core. Everything about my work has been leading up to developing my own part of the IV legion and i think i am finally there. However despite the fact it's imperial fist fan fiction i always liked the battle of phall, and so i'm developing it as part of my basing theme and another two sections of the project.So lighting stepping past what is to come, let's begin with what's i've managed to finish. After i do my little tricks with oil paints i build up the yellows tones and highlights by hand. The iron warrior flag is part of pollux's base, which makes it much easier.Now for an update after some time in the wild. I might well do, my metal work has been one of my most sought after techniques as i always manage to make it look... well realistic. I've painted about 4k of imperial fists last year (i've got some photo's somewhere) and i have no desire to do that again even if i get paid. On another note... i've had an early crack at my knights. For now i've photophopped together a lose heraldry mk1, before i do my offical shield and decal theme. I went with a 'hero' pose since these are suppost to be pretty knightly knights. My only recomendation would be to drop the hazard stripes and use the silver (like in the armorial pic you put up) for the knights trim instead of the gold. I can't wait to see where you go with your IWs. My only (very minor) subjective criticism would be that I prefer a darker, deeper yellow (kind of like the yellow on your IW vehicles' hazard stripes) to the brighter job you have going on with Polux.
