Less than an hour left! Where are my missing completions? We're so close to getting 100%, I'm going to be very upset if we miss out!

 

Ok, you convinced me.This is what I have so far, with a chunk more added to make it a significant length.

 

 

Cadian 61^st “Screaming Gryphons”

 

Although the Cadian 61^st is most famous for the prosecution of a massively successful campaign against Waaagh! 'Ard Ead on Lorennis X, the regiment has a long and glorious history. Most recently the regiment has found itself in the Ultima Segmentum, defending worlds against the encroachment of Hive Fleet Leviathan. The 61^st have faced the Tyranid threat several times and survived, though never without losses. Currently stationed on the planet Alke in the Mochi sector, the 61^st are facing a difficult situation. While attempting to reinforce the planets defences against the oncoming swarm, what began as distrust between Lord Governor Borghi and Commandant Maalouf , commander of Imperial forces sent to reinforce Alke, has escalated into full scale civil unrest, with the Governor's Household Guard on one side, the Imperial forces, including the Cadian 61^st, on the other and the Alke PDF split between the two. The cause of the Governor's lack of cooperation is currently unknown, but Imperial High Command suspects something more is at work than just stubborn independence and resentment of Imperial authority. That Commendant Maalouf has received petitions of audience from bother Inquisitorial and Mechanicus representatives only strengthens that suspicion, while sightings of an Astartes Strike Cruiser, identified as the Lethe, belonging to the Mortifactors Chapter, has only muddied the waters further.

 

Amidst all the politics, debates and skirmishes, Colonel Stratton has elected to make himself and his regiment available for whatever High Command needs, endeavoring to be present at meetings between high ranking officials from the various Imperial factions whenever possible. Ever an ambitious man, Stratton realises that should he and his regiment prove their worth in front of so many important Imperial offices, then his chance for promotion will only be increased. What this means for the men and women of the 61^st is less pleasant, with not only a Tyranid Hive Fleet breathing down their necks but also regular skirmishes with local forces that should, by all rights, be their allies.

Well done to all those that successfully completed! This has been our most successful challenge yet, with a record number of completions and some truly excellent work shown both by brush and keyboard. However we fell just short of the holy 100%... all comrades are to attend the summary execution of those that failed Emperor and regiment before the awards ceremony. Attendance is mandatory, failure to arrive punctually is punishable by death.

 

The loss of the Emperor's resources is always regretful, but when the commissariat is made to feel sad deep inside where they hide their feelings action must be taken. We were so close to the 100%... the commissariat expects efforts to be redoubled for the impending ETL IV campaign!

As you can no doubt understand it'll take some time to draw up the promotion ceremonies so please hold on to your munitorum issue head wear for the moment. This would also be a good time to review your entry in the entrants table to double check that all is present and correct

I think we're well set for ETL after this performance, so see to your wargear and get some valuable R&R soldiers for the ETL will soon be upon us!

With regards to ETL, I'm already talking to Captain Semper about it (we have a conversation running for like 3 years now about ETL behind the scenes) and I'm also doing a bit of recruiting. Well, one specific recruit who I've been on the same team as several times before.

Well, it may not be 100% but if we're throwing grenades, that's good enough. Great, in fact. Wait, that's really good !

I'd also like to thank the Commissariat for putting on this show and special thanks to the Lord Commissar for allowing those who couldn't participate in the earlier event to participate now. It feels great to be a Warrant Officer Class 2. Next step: bust the heads of those lazy troopers over by the latrine!

New shiney shiney for my sig! Thanks to the Commissariat for another fantastic event - I have precious little time to dedicate for 40K and unfortunately these little challenges are about all I can manage. The comraderie between the participatants is wonderful however, if it somehow manages to motivate me into vowing and painting a model then it really is something remarkable indeed.

So, thanks to everyone else for taking part too. I enjoyed my tiny role in this, and that I think quite aptly sums up the IG itself.

Seeing the Regiments of the B&C ranks and medals appear in sigs is all the thanks we need Best doesn't mean perfect, but you want to look as good as you can for your promotions They're not going to be around forever!

Nice to see the Parade of Honour getting updated too, but I don't see anywhere near as many posts as there are victorious comrades - so take your completed vow pictures and post them up! In the distant future you will one day stumble across the parade topic and be reminded of the glories won and tales shared, it'll be our very own history of the Guard on the B&C

I hope to have the full promotions done at some point tomorrow evening but it may be quite time consuming. For those who have attained a currently declared rank (i.e. up to Lieutenant) you may raid the Big Guns Never Tire ceremony to find the appropriate bar/ribbon - you don't have to wait for the official ceremony to start wearing it
