PA Thunder hammers on Terminators

Hey guys & gals,

Just asking if anyone else has uses PA thunder hammers on assault terminators before? I had some left over from a vanguard veteran kit and have been kit-bashing some assault terminators together with Deathwing storm shields

Are the hands too small for terminators or will it look OK

I can post pictures after work for reference but I'm sure most of you know what it looks like

I'd try to avoid matching up power armour and terminator armour, as the size difference is reasonably pronounced. Yeah, you may not notice it at 3 ft, but personally, I wouldn't do it. However, weapons are fair game though, so swapping the power sword etc. for a PA thunder hammer should look fine, and give a good bit of variety.

If you do it, cut the hand at the wrist and attach to a standard Terminator arm to avoid the size difference becoming a problem.You can then assemble the power armour arm with whatever Terminator weapon it replaces and use them to make some squad Sergeants.

I mean the other way around, using a standard PA marine hand holding a thunder hammer on a terminator sized arm, I suppose I can cut the hammer off at the hand and fit to terminator hands, will have to dig arround in the bitz box

The issue you'll run into is there are very few Terminator (right) hands that aren't gun gripping (I'm assuming you're leaving the storm shields in the left hands).

 

The alternative I'd suggest: if you're using Deathwing storm shields, is it safe to assume that you aren't using the maces? If you aren't, just replace the mace heads with thunder hammer heads.
