Jolemai Posted March 2, 2015 Share Posted March 2, 2015 So, it's been brought to my attention that despite following the instructions, the tail wing on my Stormraven is the wrong way around. Having had it pointed out to me, I just can't understand how I managed to do it as it seems so obvious! What are my options here? It has two layers of paint on it (base and undercoat) and was put together using superglue (probably something like Locktite). Does the freezer method actually work? (At least I'm consistent. I'd toss the poor bird in the ice box (on top of the turkey for added irony) for a couple hours and then do just as Lucien suggests. Should pop right off. There's nothing about the Storm Raven that looks OK aerodynamically and it makes no sense as an avionic vehicle in any way no matter how you build it, so you may as well go crazy with it. However, as time passes im coming to think that in a galaxy of space wizards, an alternate reality of pure emotions, and both sentient mushrooms and diseases with feelings running around the place, basic physics may not be so important. It should be obvious to anyone that it can't rely on aerodynamic principles to work. It has to work against aerodynamic principles in case of atmospheric flight though, and its designated role as a gunship carrier makes certain that majority of its operation is atmospheric. Ergo, its design is counterproductive to what it is made for. It makes no sense, and good luck getting something like that to fly with any kind of precision. At least for one definition of flying :) At the end of the day, the Stormraven is a flying brick so whether the elevators are correct or not is a matter of opinion as to what looks best ;) If anyone is interested, mine can be found in my siggi, but I have also used the CHS extension kit which has the advantage of making the whole model looks better. Under current technology it would barely fly, but then it's not operating with current technology, it's operating with M31st technology. If you showed any technological item from today to a human from two hundred and eighty centuries in our past, they'd probably think that it wouldn't work, or at least have no comprehension of how it did. Considering the nature of what it carries, that doesn't follow at all. There's a dizzying array of worlds in the Imperium and it has to work on all of them.
