My plans are one thing, my work another There is a plan to make an army but since I haven't played Warhammer in like a year or something and I rarely have time to work on a whole unit I prefer to work on single models at the moment. But there is a unit of terminators on my desk which got basecolors but is waiting for some sweet love since june. But yeah, there is definatly a greater plan behind this. Beautiful subtle in places, in particular in the black armour which I've had trouble with when I tried it myself. Looking forward to seeing what comes next. On the left you can see the basecoat that i applied before i went over it with the chipping liquid. In the middle is the final basecolor. Ofcourse it's missing the weathering, oilwashing, final accents and stuff but it's a good pic to give you a idea of what I am aiming for. On the right is a painting from Sam Wood, depicting Astelan and some of his Dark Angels pre-heresy. The bluegray touch to the black armor on Sam Woods paintings was the example I was aiming for. But they will get a nice :cussed-up rugged look like my Horus boys ofcourse. I'm also thinking about how I can show that this contingent has been fighting with the SoH for a while and is heavyly influenced by them. I would really not consider myself an expert in airbushing ^_^... I only use it for the basecolors of the armor. But I had a long struggle with the airbrush myself. A few years back I bought a cheap Airbrush and compressor and I've allways had problems with it. I can really recomend you: Buy quality gear from the beginning. You will pay more but otherwise you will pay double. I use a evolution silverline from Harder Steenbeck but I guess there are other quality producers as well. But I don't know how easy it is for you guys on the other side of the atlantic to get your hands on them since they are a spanish brand and even here in Europe you can only get them from some really good sides and shops.
