I tend to a more Mechanized Army and dont follow a Specific Compagnie but it would be Ironwolves but my Fluff is closer the 13th one. My Color-Sheme is German Grey ("Anthrazid") , Gory Red and Gold as Base Colors. The Name of the Company is R[A]GD Campany and its name has Deep Roots for me. Its the Name of my Old Guild Riders (for) A Glorious Death R[A]GD and even eralier had even different (sillier) Names. I thought it will be quick and easy but wanted to kill myself midway. Made many Mistakes and overseeing Dust on the Rhino made the paintjob horrible. Additionally my Details took much more time i thought it would. Its not done! Need to paint the Rhinoplate and some fixes that i only saw after making pictures. Overall im very pleased. I hate Highlighting to the maximum by now. My hand is far to unsteady for it. And i dislike drybrushing on clean Edges. Added the Half of the HB munition to the AC cause they look better that way and the HB ones were far to long. Expect something for ETC . Donkalleone Posted April 26, 2015 Author Share Posted April 26, 2015 Its not a Decal its 100% Freehand. I tried my best to copy the smbol that is in the first Post. The 3d effect was easy to made. What i have in mind with Decals is a "negative" one for the Shoulder Pads. I want to try to only print the Shadow and Highlights of the Symbol on a tranparent decal sheet and let in fake as if it was always within the pad. The option to print the full symbol itsself is far to much try and error cause getting the exact red (from the Shoulder Pads) with the color hue , sheet paper and print ink are to many variables. And i finally thought of an Origin of my Company: The RAGD Company got lost in the Warp on a Planet Called Midar that contained Chaos as well as Dwarfs. Both Sides got dragged by a Warp mishap in a War and since then existed on this Planet. The Company was influenced by boths Sides before realizing that the "modern" Chaos had deep roots even in more primitive Cultures and managed to resist their trickery. mactire Posted May 2, 2015 Share Posted May 2, 2015 Great work Mr. Corleone . I like the colour scheme for both the troops and vehicles, it's different but looks the part. Looking forward to seeing some more during the ETL, just remember to pledge only what you think you'll complete. I'm a notoriously slow painter, so I prefer to commit several vows to ensure I dont get caught for time at the end. One last thing, how did you hinge the doors ?, I always paint all the interior details and this is a great way to be able to see them without sticking the doors on with blutac . The Head should have been a regular one instead of the skull since he is overladen with Bones. Its one of my issues ... when i have tried (usually i just leave them with the shade in) they always come out a bit ... boggly eyed. And there is nothing intimidating about a boggle eyed space wolf, other than god knows where he may slash! Do you use a micro pen for the pupil or a brush? Second : the Tip of the Brush should be not dried out paint but very fresh one which "coats" it. Third: use this "little bit to much paint" on the brush to make a dot with help of the water surface tension. Forth: don't make a dot perse but "drag" a fine line. So above and below shouldn't be any white. IT doesn't always work but trying a second time makes things mostly worse than better Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
