Current RH Sisters Kickstarter - opinions on the models?

Hi all,

So I'm waffling on whether I like the Raging Heroes not-sororitas models.  Here is a link to the current kickstarter (its not the IG stuff - these are obviously supposed to be Sisters) in case you haven't heard about it: LINKY

I'm looking at them and I'm thinking that I'd want to change the shoulder pads a bit and use different backpacks, but overall they seem pretty good.  But at the same time, I find myself wondering if they really hit the Sisters aesthetic or if I'd be better off trying to convert something from Dark Eldar or just sticking with pewter until hades freezes over and GW delivers plastic sisters.

What are your opinions on them?  Most of them seem a bit better posed than the last RH kickstarter, but I'm still on the fence as I said.

I have been watching them as well and find that some of them, mostly the standard troopers and their "seraphim" troops are posed much better than their last kickstarter. That said, I do like the minis, yet their weapons and backpacks as you say and helmets as well, do not fit the aesthetics of the sisters.

But I might just get a few of them when they are open for purchase, which seems to be in march 2016. Who knows, we might actually have plastic sisters there :)

As with the previous RH Kickstarter I like the look of the models (incidentally I have a big load of models ordered from the previous one), but they're not really Sororitas in "feel".

I'm a big fan of the models. Pledged at Commander level but i'm not sure that'll cover what i want.

Nice additions / different models to serve as Dominions / Celestians, i really like the "papesse" for a Cardinal count-as =)

My only beef with them: Bring back the French-Bob cut of hair ! lol (They've said "alternate heads" in Today's update, but i'm not holding my breath....)

I would never use them, as I only play at my local GW, but I can see myself potentially getting some Knights of the Chalice for counts-as Assault Terminators. I'm also rather fond of the demon hunter character even though her aesthetic has nothing in common with the Sororitas.

some of the poses might be a bit much, but then, that might just be neat as well.. ok, some are really overstretched in their poses. I'm also liking that they don't seem to be wearing high heels, because that's the thing I found most silly of all in previous incarnations. So the models might be interesting.

Would I use them? No, they aren't sister material in my eyes, and unfortunately I've never been interested much in spending money on stuff I'll never use.

I like some of the posing etc but they are not sisters in my eyes.

Truth be told after the Cloaked Mecanicus I am holding out on sisters more than ever.

If not... Well I'm sure I can convert something special up. msn-wink.gif

Even having browsed the GW site just recently for Sisters stuff, I had managed to miss the Mechanicus stuff. First I heard of it was in the title of a Wayland Games newsletter yesterday or so, even though the mail itself didn't seem to mention anything further. Guess I gotta take a closer look! However it's certainly clear that technical issues are no longer a viable excuse, so they better come out with the Sisters stuff sooner rather than later.

I think he meant that one of the great problems with sisters was supposedly that it would be hard to model robes that flow nicely on multipart models. Since they seem to have solved that (see: Mechanicum), sisters might be ok?

I disagree that the sisters models in the KS are hyper sexualized. They certainly aren't done in the same style as GW sisters, but for the most part GW sisters are static and look more like statues than people. Especially the current seraphim...personal hate on those minis.

I'd describe the style of the Raging Heroes sisters as ultra-romanticized and dramatic, like some of the comics and fantasy art out of the 80s. I love that style so I'm backing the new KS. I'm looking forward to my confident, dynamic new girls :)

Agreed.

I'm still dreading that Pledge manager.... I've already pumped $300 but i can see that quite possibly going up when the manager comes out lol
