I need assurances Well, I've used their white and black sprays and have nothing bad to say about them, but I might be fortunate. I think it's about seven quid for a big can. In colour, it's pretty close to the old codex grey, not sure if that's the same as Mechanicus standard? Give it a good shake before use (may seem obvious but I forgot once), but it is very good, smooth coverage, dried quick. I put it straight on the model as a primer. I can't comment on how it compares in shade to the dawnstone I'm afraid, I'm still on the older paint range. Having thought about it, there's a few pictures of stuff I've used it on in my gallery. Also, if you click on the link in my signature, that should take you to a thread of stuff I've done. The plain colour pictures of my rogue trader were undercoated with halfords grey. I believe the Army Painter one is marginally darker, but I found it always left a slightly textured finish to anything I undercoated, (which is to say, it happened more than once and with different cans/colours too). Conversely, I've never had an issue with Halfords grey, it's pretty much my go-to for anything I want to paint that isn't predominantly a darker tone or black. It's pretty much the same colour as Dawnstone, goes on smoothly and doesn't actually cost that much. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
