Also mentioned in the Codex are the Murderghosts, who make heavy use of Raptors, the Bloodtusk Brotherhood, who are made up of Terminators, and then the Bloodblessed who actually worship Chaos Spawn and aspire to become Spawn themselves, believing Spawn to Khorne's ideal vision of humanity.

In preparation of the Gore Pack here's how I'm planning on doing the bikes.

Not sure how to mount the bolters. If I go for 2 Meltas I was thinking of putting them in the juggers' mouths.

"The Sons of Khar'Akhash'Gar" is a Daemonkin force mostly made up of World Eaters. Lord Grull'Phor "the Slaughterer" intends to achieve Daemonhood through massive Blood Sacrifices, and is willing to sacrifice every soldier under his command to achieve it. He has promised his company Daemonhood, should any of them survive the endeavour. Paint log will be started with this years ETL :D

"...and the name was Kharneth, our Blood God Khorne."

The Wrath hears His roar of purest hate through Time and Space!

The bloodsworn mortal host has abandoned all pretense of loyalty to Brother, Squad, Chapter, or Legion. Only Khorne stands before them, and only through service to one of His Chosen, can salvation be found.

I'm currently prepping for ETL, and will be running what I think its going to be a fairly typical rush list, that I will be fleshing out and painting for ETL.

Glad to see the thread created!

"I salute you, cousins! Though you may be mere upstarts, wallowing in the long shadow cast by the glorious XII legion, we all serve He Who Hunts At The Head of The Pack in the end, and Khorne cares not whence the blood flows, only that it flows."

Seriously, though: Having a second, dedicated Khornate topic should be interesting and will hopefully make for some cross-pollination of ideas! Maybe we could even have some kind of hobby challenge between the two communities, as a way of ascertaining the worthiest sons of the blood god?

Oh, and for those of you interested in possible Daemonkin colour recipes, there is a pretty expensive pictorial on The Wrath in this month's Warhammer:Visions. A very interesting colour scheme that makes for a rater awesome looking army!

The XII? Still they cling to that husk, a shattered remnant of a long gone age. Upstarts? I need no...assistance...in joining with the Harvester of Souls. Where you hear the buzzing of xenos tech, we only here the roar of the Blood God. We tear the very fabric of reality with our rage and our shed blood; to bring his Eaters of Gore and Flesh to lay waste to all. So hold on to your Legion, hold on while we wreak havoc.

Whoa, there, buddy: You just joined the WE community a week ago, scored one of our sweet legion badges, and now you're mouthing off like that? Shame on you, sir, shame on you! ;)

Maybe some enterprising graphic guru could make a little signature thingy for daemonkin, as well? :wub.:

We should have comminuty banner by Forte as soon as possible.  I'll have that posted as well as edit the first post with a copy for memeber to use for there sig :D

I'm really liking the Wrath paint scheme, not sure if I can pull off the white well enough, but I may do up a quick test model.

Just quickly looking that the codex.  It look like the way they've painted the Blood Angels Sang Priest model in the Blood Angels painting guide.

I've got to get working on my backstory for the Daemonkin, having decided to make them part of my main Crimson Slaughter warband. So, any suggestions for a name for a small warband of Khornate followers descended from the Quintos, the 5th Company?

They'll have their own Lord, subserviant to an extent to my main Chaos Lord, but given the power of the Daemonkin, and the daemons they hold in thrall, eventually the faction will split off.

Are the Crimson Slaughter aware of what they are haunted by? If they become so, that could be the path for your Daemonkin. The Chaos Lord determines that the only way to silence the voices is to worship Khorne, and in bringing the Daemons of Khorne into the real world, he can find peace.

Never tried anything like this before, but here's a little intro/taste of things to come. Gonna work really hard to pull the legions of unpainted gray crack together into a well-painted warband: The Brass Stampede. The theme of my force is lots of juggernauts. Juggernauts as spawn, converted WFB Skullcrushers as bikers, and numerous Juggerlords. The warlord himself, Arctos Gorehowl, rides atop a soul-bonded warp dragon (converted from a carnosaur, will be a counts as bloodthirster). Packs upon packs of flesh hounds, plenty of daemon engines, plenty of marines/berzerkers/cultists and bloodletters. Not sure how many points I've got in total, but it's a lot.

And so it begins:

Would it shock you to learn, mongrel, that my blade was once sworn to the Great Wolf himself? Many a warrior I laid low at his feet, such was my fervor to please my lord… my father. We butchered worlds in his name, shed oceans of blood to bring glory to our legion.

Such lengths, such bonds of honor among my brothers and our father that we followed him into the Eye itself to confront the forces of damnation. And yet, across the threshold we found ourselves alone, abandoned by our father to the whims of the nether without a second thought. Were we not worthy to fight by his side? How much blood had we shed to bring him victory a thousand times over? And in the end, we were nothing to him, left to perish in the roiling nightmare domain of the gods. Nine of us, left behind as chattel.

With a howl that echoed across the fel realm, I vowed to avenge this dishonor by the one I called father. By axe and tooth and fist, vengeance would be mine. My anger served as a beacon in the warp. My cries of anguish were answered by my true father. The Bloodfather. In my mind, he whispered a bargain by which I would have my revenge. The price was simple: Blood! Skulls!

In weakness my brothers turned their blades against me, decrying my willingness to pursue the eightfold path as madness and my vow of vengeance against Russ as treachery. They accepted their fate, and so I sealed it. Eight skulls I offered as my first tribute to the blood god. It was a hard won triumph to overcome the chosen of the Great Wolf, but my rage and my axe split them apart one by one. With the father vanished, the slaughter of his sons would have to suffice.

I had pleased my god. One more act, he whispered, would cement our bond. With the blood of my slain brothers and that pouring from my own wounds, I drew the skull rune across my mangled breastplate. And so was I anointed. And so was I chosen by the Bloodfather.

How many millennia have passed since my oath of vengeance? Time is meaningless, my memories of Russ distant and ephemeral. Only blood. Only skulls. I command a legion of Khorne’s mightiest warriors. We are The Brass Stampede, and entire systems have been trampled beneath the hooves of our juggernauts.

I am Arctos Gorehowl, warlord of The Brass Stampede, and I will claim your skull.

As the haze of the morning light started to creep over the horizon it was clear that all the preparations had been worthwhile. The paltry PDF of the Capella system had been butchered and the blood was slowly seeping into the hastily erected alters to the blood god. Retaxxes stared across the ruined settlement searching for the true intended foe of this expedition. There! A silhouette appeared in the distance and was heralded by the thunder of creatures each the mass of a battle tank. The Tyranids were here and at the front of the invasion a mass of monstrous creatures thundered forward. Retaxxes smiled under his gore-splattered helm. These massive skulls would make a great offering indeed!

Game: Emperors Will/1500pts/standard deployment/night fighting

The Eight Scarred: Lord on jugger dual axes/zerkers in rhino/CSM’s in rhino/2x cultists/2x solo spawn/possessed tax/8 dogs/2x min bikes with melta/defiler

Enemy: Tyrant with wings twin devs/3x carnifex twin devs/trygon prime/2x tyrinid warrior squads/Exocrine

The battle started with the giant xenos surging forward. The great leader bug took to the air and with a massive siphon of warp energy sent a searing blast through the core of the defiler destroying it in a shower of shrapnel. The giant siege monstrosity in the backfield shot and the rhino carrying khornes favored berserks melting away the exterior leaving the crazed  warrior to slog it on foot. Also the shards of flying metal felled a number of the cultists in close proximity, and as they turned to run the bezerkers chopped them to bitz as an offering to khorne. The lumbering carnifex squad unloaded its salvo of worm-ridden death on Lord Retaxxes and his hunting pack of bloodhounds, sending the squad back to the warp. Retaxxes fumed! He would crash into the xenos line like a meteor and make the creatures pay. However in his distracted state, he did not notice the tyrant deftly turn itself in the air to bring its guns to bear. In a massive salvo of boring insects the leader fell to the ground, his blood seeping as yet another offer to the god of skulls.

Khorne cares not from whence the blood flows……

With a large force of the Eight Scarred destroyed, a bestial cry echoed across the settlement as the blood host surged forward. In their wake a skull cannon materialized from the warp to aid in the battle. The bikes sped forward of the flank of the settlement the Chaos Marine rhino revved its engine and sped forward. Everything else lumbered on foot/tentacle toward the enemy. Aside from the skull cannon which splattered 2 tyranid warriors, the rest of the army ran as fast a possible toward the foe.

Pressing the advantage, the Tyranids continued forward. In a torrent of firepower the foul bugs shattered the rhino of the chaos marines, evaporated a bike squad, and put a couple of wounds an a spawn. The towering form of the trygon sped across the ruins of a building to crash into the possessed squad. Tearing all but the champion asunder and taking only a single wound in return.

Blood for the Blood god!!

The blood host knew that the time was now for glory or death. The bike seared a tyranid warrior to death and charged the 2 remaining. The cultists charged into the torrent of fire from the carnifi and the spawn and the spawn joined in as well. The berzerkers bellowed as they charged the trygon engaged in the middle of the field and the other spawn charged lone tyranid warrior. As expected the cultists died to a man as did the spawn engaged with the mighty carnifex formation. The bikes managed to trade 1 for 1 leaving only a lone tyranid warrior facing the biker champion. The other spawn fared better downing his foe. The trygon smashed a bezerker and the last possessed. The berzerkers chain axes and swords sparked of the giant creature’s armor leaving no noticeable damage. The Harold the head-taker ran full sprint at the monstrosity. Vaulting of the back of one of his squads back armor he leapt through the air, his axe of khorne sweeping a deadly arc through the air. With a spray of gore and a sickening crunch the beasts head parted from its thorax and crashed to the ground.  Without words the champion pointed at the group of carnifex and gestured his finger across his throat. His squad look confused until Harold grunted the word “metaphor”.

The tryanid counter attack was swift and brutal as the tank like carnifex charged the chaos marines.  The Exocrine took aim and melted 3 berkerkers.  The biker champion, insoired by the martial prowess of the bezerker champ finished of the tyranid warrior. The chaod marines did not fail as well and their corpses littered the field in a Jackson Polluk style smattering of gore and body parts.

Skulls for the throne!!!

The air filled with the tang of brimstone and sulfer and red lightning played across the skies. A red mist circled around the biker champion. “The blood god has rewarded my…..” his speech was cut short and his body burst like a blood filled balloon and a raging blood thirster tore into reality from the crater of gore.  The spawn was gunned down charging the carnifex leaving the zerkers unmolested as they charged in. The skull chariot threw its bulk at the exocrine smashing a couple of wounds of for a glance in return. Leaping into combat with the carnifex the berzerkers scratched a couple of wounds off of the massive beasts. As they staggered Harold climbed in the foremost beasts back and with school girls glee parted its armored head from its body. As the bulk fell to the ground, Harold left from the creatures back and severed the head from another massive beast!!!! As he was river dancing his in celebration his squad was smashed around him. The tyrant thought better than to engage the newly arrived blood thirster so it flew off the engage the skull chariot. The exocrine stepped back shot the chariot and charged headlong into the machine. Between the tyrant and the exocrine, a single glancing hit was the impact on the chariot, which cleaved down the exocrine in return! Harold, without anyone’s back to leap of off, could not reach the final carnifex’s neck and was smashed under a giant hoof. The thrister charged the carnifex and lopped of its head and the tyrant again was thwarted by demonic saves.

The Blood thirster Kal’therax eyed the enemy commander as he sped towards its prey. It loathed this creature and its cowardly tactics. He had met hive tyrants before and usually they do not avoid combat, but it did not matter. The greater deamon struck home like death itself and he smashed the tyrant to pieces. Kal’therax was annoyed. He cared nothing for these mortal followers, but it would take time to gather enough deamonkin to start the blood flow anew. He could already feel his tether to the mortal plain receding, patience was not one of his strong points…..

Victory to the blood host!!

A very old shot of my AoBF Juggerlord + spawn retinue, fits thematically with how my army will be built. I plan to rebuild his legs to look better, and the Skullcrusher juggernauts have been replaced by bloodcrusher juggies:

A few notes from when I built mine, watch the head placement as those horns can get in the way of the axe, and the torso armour and right arm get in the way of eachother a bit so you may want to fight with that next. :D

Some good points, thanks! I avoided gluing the other pieces on so I could paint them without worrying. They do fit together pretty snugly, so I'll have to put things together at an angle so they all fit without jamming against each other.

Yeah I must have slipped up on something (right arm/chestplate) as I've got a gap behind its right arm. Could be so the axe lines up with the arms as well, but nothing a bit of greenstuff wont fix.

HURRY ETL I NEED TO PAINT THIS GUY.
