Fallen Assassins

Recommended Posts

Okay, I'm starting to have an idea in my head for a group of chaos assassins, each assassin devoted in one chaos god :) and was wondering what forces can the assassins be allied to? could be a fun conversion project.

thanks :)

was thinking one for each chaos god possibly:

Eversor: berserk killing machine, devoted to Khorne maybe an Arco-flagellant or gladiator style monster

Vindicare: warrior armed with a daemonic rifle, a living weapon its ammunition representing the different ammo types. could be any god except khorne.

Callidus: im thinking something inspired by the great villian in the assassin horus heresy novel, may have to re-read it now :) slaanesh or tzeencth

Culexus: not sure to be honest what god.

Also got hold the newest white dwarf, so now have an easy reference of the assassin rules :) and will show pics of what i come up with for my models :)

Another option would be to make the anti-psyker one dedicated to Khorne as we all know how much he hates psykers...

Therefore the Eversor would be Slaanesh (unless there is another with very high initiative)

Not sure what the other two do.

Sounds like a really cool idea though :) Can't wait to see the results

yeah tzeentch does make sense for vindicare :) a sorcerer with an ensorcelled rifle or something.

i was thinking khorne for eversor because of the melee focus plus frenzon rules suits a khornate berserker too. they all have the same statline.

definitely slaanesh for callidus too i think.

just the culexus makes me scratch my head.

Vindicare - Tzeentch - How many schemes can be advanced or thwarted by the right bullet in the right place..

(alternates: Slaanesh - Striving for the perfect shot. Khorne - Harvesting skulls, one bullet at a time. Boom. Headshot. )

Callidus - Slaanesh - The ultimate charmer. The perfect infiltrator.

(alternate: Tzeentch - how better to advance your schemes than to play the many parts? )

Eversor - Khorne - He cares not from whence it comes, only that it flows

(alternate: Slaanesh - Come, let us paint a beautiful symphony in blood. Nurgle - Bringing ruin to all. )

Culexus - Nurgle - In the end, the entropy of the universe brings an end to us all. Come, feel the despair as your power leaks away.

(alternate: Tzeentch - There shall be but one master of the warp here today... Khorne - Abandon those cowardly powers, face me  with your own might. )

For the Culexus, remember that while Nurgle is known as the lord of Plagues, that is the method, not the source. He is the god of entropy, the god to be embraced when you have abandoned all hope, the god that is there for you when all you have left is despair. His rival on the pantheon is also Tzeentch, so while Nurgle uses psychic powers, it is his rival that embraces their use. So what better to use against sorcerers of Tzeentch than a being that shuts down sorcerers. See how Pappa Nurgle laughs as their artifices crumble around them, as entropy takes hold. Taste their despair as their powers are denied them and they are left gasping in the mortal realm, their strengths denied them.

That is why Culexus can be a Nurgle assassin.

Update!

Okay so I've started working on my assassin project :) and background wise they are a dark mechanicus project, kind of like a grim dark version of the weapon x project. here is my plans for each assassin:

Eversor: going for Khorne with this guy, based on a necromunda pit slave i have in my collection.

Callidus: Slaanesh for this one. based on a dark eldar to get a elegant female form, i want to try and make it look like its made from liquid metal, kind of like the T1000 crossed with a daemon :)

Vindicare: Tzeencth. some kind of corrupt skitarii or tech-priest armed with a daemonic rifle, the rifle long ago possessing and controlling its wielder :)

Culexus: Nurgle, thanks for the suggestion, going with the agent of entropy idea not sure what to do model wise at the moment though.

Hopefully pics soonish

For your Culexus, this might be a perfect time to do a cairn wraith conversion. http://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Vampire-Counts-Cairn-Wraith

Use the tattered robs to show the ties to Nurgle, while the aura is an aura of despair.

yeah would do the trick i think :) or something similar.

As an alternative, and if you ever decide to come at this at a different angle, I was thinking which powers seemed most appropriate to the various beings:
Culexus, Khorne: some sort of blessing of khorne similar to the brass collar that causes sorcery to malfunction.

Callidus, Tzeentch: the changer of ways is well known for mutation, and body modifying mutations are very similar to the Callidus infiltration method.
Eversor, Nurgle: instead of dying in an explosion of fire, he pops bursting over the surroundings with plague ridden pus and bile.
Vindicare, Slaanesh: An obsession with the perfect shot seems like it could lead to this.

I've actually made three of them, pics hopefully soon :)

Well, as a member of the Imperium faction, they'd be Come-The-Apocalypse level allies with Chaos, but that shouldn't be a big limitation since Assassins are usually deployed far from the rest of the army.

Thats how I ran my Two vindicares back from the Grey Knights codex in my Unbound Army.  I miss that "Oh, you spent all those points on that Eternal Shield?  Unfortunately IT'S DESTROYED.  I wonder which JuggerLord is going to kill him?"
