I Aubéron rise to the challenge of E TENEBRAE LUX and vow to complete 2 rhino and 1 razorback (with heavy bolter), 1 predator from Codex : Blood Angels of total value 240 points on or before August 1st, 2015. Success will bring eternal glory to my Legion, Chapter, her Successors and her for a and failure will doom me to bear the Badge of the Oathbreaker until my vow is fully completed. That shall be my penitence.

 

New vow for me. Not really long but difficult for me  because I do not like to paint tanks.

How were those kits to put together Keebler?

The sicaran was great.  Really easy, not a lot of parts and it just has a nice sturdy feel to it.  The fire raptor....ugh.  I never ever ever want to work with resin again because of it.  I actually have two fire raptors because the original hull was split upon arrival so forgeworld sent me another which a friend of mine was (somehow) able to salvage.  The combination of resin and plastic just makes it tough to get together.  And it needs a LOT of filling because the plastic and resin don't always fit together.  It's a gorgeous model and all but it was just a chore to get together.

The only plastic / resin kit I've done is the Achilles and that wasn't easy but not too bad. I have heard bad things about the Stormraven-based kits... Looks like you did a good job anyway!

My Fire Eagle was a true pain in the ass to assemble. It was coated stem-to-stern in heavy flashing and was warped severely. I was able to straighten it significantly with hot water boiling, but frankly the whole endeavor put me off my hobby for a few weeks. It is still unpainted.

@ Levianthus: Absolutely gorgeous! I have to say that although BAs are my second favourite Chapter (since the Angels of Death Codex back in the day) one of the things that scare me is the assault squads yellow helmets! This is super smooth work there - everything is so clean. What can I say? Congratulations and keep it up! Let's see the second half soon...

@ Threefiddy: Great Termies there - and the green power weapons look excellent! I'm not even going to go the Flesh Eaters shields! Your new vow is registered - good luck!

@ vahouth: They look great indeed! Highlighting black is an art in its own right (too mush Ravenwing taught me that) so respect for your very subtle and very defining highlights. Keep it up!

@ keeblerartillery: (resect goes through the roof). Please begin! Regarding the fire raptor, I get similar comments by virtually everyone who has tackled it. So there goes a model I will NEVER buy... The only thing that concerns me is that I don't think you can legally get this in a BA list (correct me if I'm wrong)... What I suggest is that you make it a count-as Stromraven with Typhoon missile launchers that will get you to the same base price of the Raptor Gunship . I eagerly await for your official vow!

Let me just say that the output of the BA forum is as impressive as it's number of participants! I'm really stunned!

Well that's even better then! It's one of those weird things that SM can have them, SWs can have them, DAs can have them and BA are strangely omitted... Good that they fixed this in the FAQs (haven't seen that).

I liked it so much I got 3 :-). Still one set to paint up at some point, been using them for my vet squads, my other finished squad is here http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/256750-mercs-madness/?p=3567560 going to do the last one up with plasma weapons at some point

Small update, while not all for ETL (only 5 are!) I've got the rocks and rubble onto my Iron Earth'd bases! 

 

As well as a base coat on the Chainaxes for the Vow (first time ever working with Resin, woo!)

 

Not shown is all the Tau Ochre I've painted onto the purity seals and parchment of the DC Vow, damn that kit is blinged OUT!
