Tech-Priest Dominus

Now for the big project . . . blink.png

Kastelan Robot Maniples

Note: Got one basecoat in before I remembered I needed WIP pics, which is why they have red mitts! Also, spoilers for my paint scheme . . . tongue.png

Messaged Semper to see if he will let me Vow my Warlord for any points. Technically it's completely scratch built out of foam and plasticard so per rules - no. But I'm checking. Otherwise I'll just OOC it.

Hi Folks,

Due to a personal loss, the forges of Mars were closed for a while, but i'm back and the forges have been re-opened. Been painting silently in the background while seeing some awesome work coming through. Good job all.

My progress :

So far, the datasmiths and Magos are done, the servitors need some additional armor panels painted up for the breachers and the Kastellans need some layers. Everything also needs to be based, but I should be on target for completion by the end of the month biggrin.png

Well with less than a month to go, I'd best not waste any time. On to vow 4!

I, Frostbite, rise to the challenge of E TENEBRAE LUX and vow to complete one unit of three Kataphron Destroyers with Heavy Grav Cannon and Phosphor Blasters, worth 165pts, and one unit of three Kataphron Destroyers with Plasma Culverin and Phosphor Blasters, also worth 165pts, for a total of 330pts, from Codex Cult Mechanicus, on or before the 1st of August. Success will bring eternal glory to the Omnissiah and the Forge World of Lucius, while failure will doom me to wear the badge of the oathbreaker until the end of the year.

So that's some more basecoat action (warplock bronze aka tin bitz) and some dry fitting cos it looks awesome when they are semi-assembled

Fortunately, it seems like we're still getting some big vows in our final weeks for ETL! I'm still optimistic about finishing my vow on time, mostly because the Kastelans are super easy and fun to paint. happy.png

Great work pompey! So many models together is always nice to see and you've done a really good job on them :tu: Another sizeable vow to follow up with so I'll look forward to that - better get that paint brush going if you're going to paint them all up in time! ;)

Another update:

Not sure yet whether I will leave these weapons the "wrong way around" but I think this pose has better movement as the trailing leg works better with the chainsword coming through at an angle.

Lots more bits part painted now.

And more... Apologies if they don't show up well against the tin they are standing on...

Coming along nicely, I hope you'll agree! I have also spent some time thinking about and researching the fluff. Slightly annoyingly a similar idea to mine in terms of the look of the model appeared in WD26... <teaser>
