+++E Tenebrae Lux IV - Realm of Chaos Strategium+++

Recommended Posts

Here's my Vow #1 DONE.  Real life got difficult over the past month.  I dont think I'm going to be able to get the other 1.5k points I had planned in.  If I have the time to vow some, I will.

Great! I just applied the base colours on my 10 bloodletters: a upwards/reversed zenithal spray of Khorne Red and a zenithal spray of Mephiston red, then a fairly heavy drybrush of Jokearo orange, followed by a heavy all-over wash of 3:1:1 Lahmian Medium, Druchii Violet, and Baal Red. Now waiting for it to dry (which takes forever) and then tomorrow detailing! :)

No progress today, had a 10 and a half hour shift and a trapped nerve in my lower back dry.png

Will definitely crack on tomorrow though as I'm now on holiday in the run up to my surgery :tu:

I'm very interested to see this.

I wondered about doing highlights as if my daemonettes were lit from below rather than above...but chickened out. :D

Perk of being married...my wife has a hairdryer ;)

Now this I want to see.

And you do realise that Augustus sprayed dark from below and light from above ;)

Painting is done on the model, fixed to the display stand, barrier made, resin mixed and tinted, and slowly leaking down the side of the plinth....nuts.

Fingers crossed.

Whereas I used the same mid-sized brush to undercoat, wash, and re-highlight. These airbrush techniques are wizardry to me !Now for the black bits......

Don't worry. I paint my stuff with a size 1, 2, or 3 brush.

Oops! I got my colours mixed up. I thought Khorne was the lighter and Mephiston the darker.

Perhaps I'll try doing it light-from-beneath sometime on a model. Sometime.

Haha glad you guys worked it out by yourselves ;)

Forté, that thing will come out looking absolutely fabulous. In a putrid, rancid kind of way. :tu: I hope it all turns out well - would´t it have been better to make the barriers slightly higher? Or is this annoying 'benefit of hindsight' talk? mellow.png

I have been very productive today, finished the bloodletters in my vow, and constructed the last unit in my third vow, the Plague Drones.

More individual close-ups of the bloodletters HERE in my Showcase Log.

Believe it or not, the trick is to have the barrier to the height you want the water level. Then to fill it so the resin looks like a bubble. Resin shrinks as it cures so doing it this way avoids a raised lip (think about water tension).

Might the leaking down the sides look just fine? Sort of a permeation of the soil?

Sadly no. It'll be getting raffled/auctioned and the proceeds will be going to the Poppy Appeal to help a young girl with cancer. So I need to fix it.
