Vow 4 Completion:

And for a final vow, to tide me over:

Vow 5:

I, Chaeron, rise to the challenge of E TENEBRAE LUX and vow to complete the following, drawn from Codex Chaos Space Marines:

Warpsmith Vorux 'The Siege Ender' with Mark of Nurgle, Veteran of the Long War and a Black Mace - 175pts

...of total value 175pts on or before August 1st, 2015. Success will bring eternal glory to Nurgle and the Chaos forum: failure will doom me to bear the Badge of the Oathbreaker until the year-end.

I've often felt that in light of the Fists and Iron Warriors being siege specialists, other legions didn't receive their due. I hope to change that with the offering in Vorux: he's a conversion I bought simply for his looks, and how brutally effective he could potentially be. I liked the pose - the fact he's planning the next thing to destroy with that pointing finger... Real sense of menace with such an evocative pose. A weapon the size of him in the form of a siege hammer or mace makes it a fitting wargear choice, and I enjoy the fact he's standing on something he's brought down - appropriate for a Warpsmith too. There will be an intended homage to the other compatriots who specialise in such warfare, naturally. He's another model that has sat on my 'to-do' pile for ages, and so very happy to paint him as a final offering, surveying the work of this year's ETL. As ever, if anyone spots any wargear issues (or you'd rather something else Captain), just shout!

To the paint-station!

Congratulations guys - this is a totally amazing effort!

Now, because you all talk too much ;), yours is the most Strategium to keep track. So PLEASE check the first page and make sure your entries' status is correctly registered.

UPDATED TO THIS POINT!

Vow 2 complete!  I decided to take the day off and told my teams to not bother calling me unless a data center was on fire.  I thought I was clear but for some reason they still called me twice and there was clearly nothing burning at the time.  There may be more skulls headed Khorne's way when I get back to work on Monday!

I'll take better pictures later.  Going to crash now.

First to dance gets it.

Get´s what? The joke? Or perhaps an awkward one-armed hug from a relatively small Dark Angel? I mean, if this is what I see, then if the marine shoots the plasma pistol he'll most likely miss the viewer's head by more than a foot. Obviously this shot was taken moments before a big 'ol hug. ;)

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been active, school's been kicking my ass.

But anyway, after about 3 days straight of modeling/painting (and about 100 pots of coffee), my vow is done!

@sempter: I editied the before pic into my 1st post

(sorry for meh quality, I had to use my phone)

And thanks to the people who kept me accountable msn-wink.gif

Looks more like a lord than a warpsmith to me, (no mechatendrils) but otherwise seems fine.

He has a couple helping with the sword and four retracted on his back, and another couple in reserve! Can't be too ornate with those sorts of things msn-wink.gif

Here are a few photos of the Warpsmith in progress, from last night and this morning. There are four photos, but they've come up a little big in some cases, so I've spoiler tagged them:

I've tried something rather different with the weapon - not totally sure if it works but will see as the rest of the miniature progresses.

Hey, can one of the folks that's already been running the numbers check how we're doing? Heresy just had a bunch of completions roll in, and some of them are pretty hefty.

In other news, gianlucafiorentini reckons they'll have their vow done in time.

After gianlucafiorentini finishes, we still need the hefty vows of Sheesh Mode, greg0985, Luther the Fallen, and rayray, plus some lower than 1000 points. Is anyone in contact with them?

Edit: Oh and Aeternas. Damn, those five alone count for about 8% completion rate.

Vow 5 Complete:

Warpsmith Vorux - "The Siege Breaker"

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/WarpsmithFinal_zpslcvtte4j.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/WarpsmithFinalBack_zpsqqtudlbz.jpg

And just to avoid clogging the page up with loads of photos, there's a spoiler tagged one with his removable mechatendrils:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/TheNewAgeOutlaw/GW/WarpsmithTendrils_zpsmozl2llz.jpg

It just means I can use him in either 30k/40k without a major issue. They slot perfectly into gaps that I can clearly pretend I made for that purpose. The tendrils, planned for another project, were created using a green stuff roller. You'll be seeing more of that in the near future as aforementioned. They're more of the biologic fusion, to complement his other physical augments.

I don't think I've ever painted so many rivets! Very happy overall - he came out better than expected.

Massive thank you to Captain Semper for all of his work and effort - your efforts are always so appreciated, as you do such a fantastic job. Has been great fun to be a part of, as ever, and delighted to have been able to put forward just shy of 7000pts for the cause.
