I think you might be going a little bit heavy with that rust. It doesn't just show up that heavy and dark, but is usually built up to that stage after a long period of time. Do some longer, lighter streaks, and then slowly build up the streaks making them shorter and darker until you get to the starting point of the rust streak.

Thanks BCK I'll thin it down in the morning, all I have to do is the muzzles on the auto cannons and wash the metallic areas back.

Tomorrow I'll finish the seekers I'll leave the bases for now as its not mandatory and im itching to get vow 1 done so I can paint some Tanks.

Finished the rapier battery and crew, and I´m almost halfway through the tactical squad. The Phobos is pretty much ready for painting as well, but I might have to put it on hold. I don´t think I have enough paint to finish both the tacticals and the LR, gonna have to order some more since the only store in my area that sold Vallejo paints closed down a while back. sad.png

Anyway, I´ts great to see that (almost) everyone is making good progress, keep up the good work! msn-wink.gif

WOW just some GREAT progress guys and such a great deal of work put in

chappie mortis @glad to see you didnt go overboard with the celebrationmsn-wink.gif and once again great looking termies ,although maybe you could do an ironman colour scheme to match the gif

and rageofkhorne that is some spectacular freehand almost cthulhu meets tribal ,quite unnerving and beautiful at the same time,also love how the main body blends light to dark like a great whitewub.png

Some nice updates today and we get to welcome paz to the Team! Welcome, brother. Short of that, all we have are the numbers today. Not a lot of movement but movement nonetheless. We're still about fifteen grand short of our goal - 100,000 points before the end of the recruitment phase (yes, I have taken a slight liberty with that goal) - but by my reckoning we are still the board leaders. If you can rope in someone for a vow, then please consider doing so - we have the pace and volume to win this year. Cementing our lead early will allow for a larger margin for error and head the Chaos forum at the pass, what with their attempts to pile on greater vows per person to compete with us.

 

And the numbers are:

 

  • Pledged total: 84,556 points 
  • Completed total: 10,878 points 
  • Vows completed: 12
  • Completion rate: 12.9%
  • Number of vows: 91
  • Average vow: 929 points

I managed to get some alone time tomorrow, so I should be able to finish up my current vow, and then I plan to finish up my Shadowsword and Baneblade and break out my airbrush to get the lion's share of the painting done on them. If I'm extremely, extremely lucky, I may be able to have both of those finished before the long weekend is done. At the very least they'll be a long way towards that.

kheres assault and fist, was unsure what else to get! Not having much HH experience those seemed the best basic stuff. is a plasma blaster, flamer, graviton or combi best in the fist?

With the Kheres, I'd go either plasma or combibolter. I also don't have much experience with them, and mine is a Mortis-pattern with dual Kheres. You'll like the weapon, that much I can assure you.

This dude is done and for some crazy reason I ordered 80 32mm resin blank bases off of a FB 40k group to redo ALL of my dudes plus any more marines I build. 80...golly gee was I thinking??!!! ;)
