+++E Tenebrae Lux IV - Astra Militarum Strategium+++

Recommended Posts

You don't need to use them all, but aside from the cupola hatch there isn't anywhere they "must" go. I like to put one on the back of the rear hatch too but that's all, so do what you like with them :) Well, within reason. I wouldn't put them on the tracks or guns for example

I use the handles sparingly. Think about where the guys would go to get atop the tank. If it were me, I would simply run up the back of the tracks, careful not to let a foot slip in between. You used to see them around the front of the turret area on the chassis in the old pictures.

Place them where you think they could be appropriate

Primaris Psyker completed. Just the Techpriest and another Psyker left, and that's Vow 2 done! If all goes to plan I should have these done by the weekend. :)

My guess is that the Ethereals frown on the whole "brain frying" thing.  It's a cool conversion, though I'm very curious what this model started out as . . .

It's not a conversion, it's a miniature from Kromlech. :)

The Tau would aim to study this phenomenon, I imagine, as it's something that comes up in human populations regardless of how much it's oppressed. They're pragmatic above all else, and would aim to try and understand how it works to see if it could be replicated.

The little "snout" piece thing that goes on the front of the Executioner cannon has killed me.  I didn't realize it had set-in slightly crooked and now it is super-glued at an angle and the whole turret is ruined.  I need to buy another kit just to fix that mistake.  At least I'll have more bits I guess.

Put it in the freezer, you might be able to crack it out and salvage the pieces.

Interesting, I'll give it a shot.  Thank you.

You should probably use plastic glue on plastic models too

I disagree. God forbid a model breaks, but with super glue it breaks at the joint, rather than somewhere else. I've stopped using plastic glue, because it melts the pieces together, and with so many metal models in my collection now, it's easier to just have one kind of glue.

WIP update: What a lovely week

Decided to focus on the 4 imperial knights first and leave the big guy till last. Thought it might be easier to paint in batch style, so got the legs and torsos done pretty much.

Hopefully next week will have the arms and weapons done. Really need to quicken the pace a bit as I know the armour plates will slow me down a bit.

Keep pushing Guardsmen, but have fun too!

Huzzah!!!! I hereby declare my vow complete. Just in time for the weekend update hopefully. I am not viwing just yet as moving house in 2 weeks may just push my painting time and I don't want to risk it. After the move I may do a couple single model vows.

Anyhow, here are a couple of pics, more in my WIP. The glorious Baneblade "Grand Revenge".....

Vow #2 Complete:

The Hydra. A little darker than I had intended, especially on the front, but oh well. Now my Steel Host is complete.

The veteran squad, shown here modeled with their Rig'ged pattern plasmaguns.

Company Command Squad, also with their Rig'ged pattern plasmaguns. What can I say, I like plasma.

My armies fearless leader. Typically, he will also have the Aquila, but I couldn't think of a decent way to model it for this event.

Vow #3 (because I'm a gluttone, or just want to get the infantry over with):

I, librisrouge, rise to the challenge of E TENEBRAE LUX and vow to complete three veteran squads with three plasmaguns each, from Codex: Astra Militarum Real Men, of total value 270pts on or before August 1st, 2015. Success will bring eternal glory to the regiment and failure will doom me to bear the Badge of the Oathbreaker until the year-end.

Scats, I can't see your Baneblade. Is it behind that camouflaged hill? Oh, I get it. The hill is the Baneblade. Great job thumbsup.gif!

Thanks Mehman!

And well done Libris, some good paint jobs there and a hefty further vow too.

Quick (and probably stupid) rules question: Can I do a heavy weapons squad or do I need to vow an entire platoon?

You can do just a HWS if you fancy.

Huzzah indeed! Another two excellent completions well done comrades! :D It's great to see our momentum not slowing so let's aim to keep it that way until the end :tu: I plan to get my Lord Commissar primed today but I likely won't get time to start work. I have scheduled Sunday in for painting :D

I'm resubmitting my vow. Upon looking through my models, I realized I can easily tack on a few more points via power axes while still being fine with my army goals.

Vow #3:

I, librisrouge, rise to the challenge of E TENEBRAE LUX and vow to complete three veteran squads with three meltaguns and a power axe each, from Codex: Astra Militarum Real Men, of total value 315 pts on or before August 1st, 2015. Success will bring eternal glory to the regiment and failure will doom me to bear the Badge of the Oathbreaker until the year-end.
