Nassir Amit, The Flesh Tearer - new weapon!

Recommended Posts

I'm currently making a model for Nassir Amit, first Chapter Master of the Flesh Tearers, and would like some feedback before I present it to use in games. The question is simple really: would you mind playing against it? If not, why? Points increase? Thanks for checking it out!

That would indeed work well. It's a Vanguard head right?

Here are some rules, originally posted on Dakka, that I have started to refine. There are still 2/3 things that I think need to be changed a bit but I'll see what others think. Also points needs to be appropriate.

Nassir Amit - LoW 220pts

WS 6

BS 5

S 4

T 4

W 4

I 5

A 4

Ld 10

Sv 2+/4++

Special rules: And They Shall Know No Fear, Independent Character, The Flesh Tearer, Unstoppable

Equipment: Terminator Armour, Iron Halo, Amit's Chainfists, Frag and Krak grenades.

Amit's Chainfists feature built in Storm Bolters and have two profiles:

Range -

S x2

AP 2

Type: Melee, Master Crafted, Armourbane, Specialist Weapon, Merely An Inconvenience

Range 24"

S 4

AP 5

Type: Assault 4

Merely An Inconvenience - Despite the huge bulk of his formidable weapons, Amit has learnt to wield them with deft efficiency. Nassir Amit is reduced to Initiative 2 instead of 1 when using his Chainfists.

The Flesh Tearer - Nassir Amit has the reputation of a slaughterer without peer, and rightly so. Many a foe has been butchered by his hands and many more are wary to face him in battle.

Nassir Amit has the Fearless, Furious Charge, Rage and Rampage Special Rules. Additionally, Nassir Amit must issue and accept Challenges whenever possible.

Unstoppable - Once fallen to the Blood Rage that accompanies every battle, Amit becomes truly unstoppable, moving onto his next target just seconds after butchering his previous.

Amit and any attached unit must always consolidate towards the nearest enemy unit.

Warlord Trait: Lord of Cretacia - Amit must be selected as Warlord if part of a Combined Arms Detachment. All units from the same detachment within 12" gain the Rage and Fearless special rules.

There are a few things that I thing may be an issue, but I would be interested to see what others think.

For my Iron-hearted Angels (a Flesh Tearers successor) Codex, I gave the Chapter Master Nassir Amit's Terminator armor, named his chainfists "Darkness" and "Rage", and gave the weapons the following profile:

Range -, S x2, AP 2.  Melee, Armourbane, Master-crafted, Point-blank Shot (storm bolter), Unwieldly.

"POINT-BLANK SHOT" special rule

The unit may make one (1) bonus attack in each Fight sub-phase, using the weapon listed in the parentheses; this weapon has Range - when it makes the attack.  If the unit has multiple weapons with this special rule, choose which one to use.  This bonus attack is made at the unit's normal Initiative, and is in addition to any other bonus attacks, e.g., the +1 from charging.

I think the ability to make "Point-blank Shots" will help. The wielder exchanges Strength and Armor-piercing capability for speed (Initiative) for this bonus attack.

EDIT: nvm. I misread this. I really like the character. May I sugest saying Red Thirst instead of Blood Rage?

Nice idea Bjorn, makes him more deadly in Close combat for sure! I do like the tactical flexibility of being able to shoot though, and I think having both for this set of rules might be a bit OP...

I have been tinkering away and decided to add another weapon option to his profile, his mahoosive chainsword which i have called Cleaver. If there is an official name for it please do say. He may replace his fists for this weapon and a bolt pistol and bolter for free. Thinking about giving him this default and making one pay to give him chainfists?

Also thought about giving him power armour with termi armour as an additional upgrade...

Anyway, i'll post the rules for Cleaver and if they're good i'll edit them into the original profile.

Cleaver has the following profile:

Range -

S User + X*

AP 3

Type: Melee, Master Crafted, Rending, *Sunder, Heavy Blow

Sunder - Cleaver lives up to its name in every battle, slicing with ease through swathes of enemies as Amit charges in. Indeed, if a lightly armoured foe comes within reach of this mighty Eviscerator, it is inevitable that they shall be cut down like crops. When wounding with this weapon, add the target unit's majority armour save, plus one, to the user's strength. When striking a vehicle, add 3.

Heavy Blow - Even the hastiest of parries of the strongest of blocks have no chance of standing up against Amit wielding Cleaver as it arcs down. If Nassir Amit has the same Initiative as an enemy he is facing, he will always strike first as if having a higher Initiative value. Note, although this applies to challenges, the rest of his unit may not benefit from this rule.

I've also added Hatred: Ultramarines for fun!

I think Cleaver should be renamed "Blood Reaver," after Gabriel Seth's chainsword- as Gabriel Seth now holds Nassir Amit's position as the Flesh Tearers Chapter Master, it's fitting he wield his predecessor's weapon in battle.

As for Hatred, it's only right for Nassir Amit to have Hatred (Black Legion) or Hatred (Chaos Daemons, Chaos Space Marines)- they're the ones who murdered Sanguinius, after all.
