I live in a fairly rural area and have few outlets to display anything i have worked on. Perhaps the base should be something completely different to the brown palette used to make them pop out more? As an aside, have you thought about your Chapter's fluff? Whether or not it's something you stick to or make up simply for it, this thread would benefit from a paragraph or two about the Carnotaurs should you have the time. I will be updating Them to 32mm bases and going with a city fight/grey rubble motif. I think it will have the desired effect I do have some fluff to type up and will post it A. S. A. P. The ETL looks like a great way to encourage some excellent painting. I have an Assault squad that is to far along to qualify. But many others models/units that need some red and bronze love. These are armed with 1 PW and 4 thunder hammers. The other 5 are still on the sprue. Keravnos Posted May 22, 2015 Author Share Posted May 22, 2015 I was able to get started on my ETL vow today. Got Sanguinary priest and my count as Dante base coated. Along with sang guard with chapter banner along for the ride. I hope to have them finished before my game on Saturday. I will be facing a Kantor led IF army with 3 Sternguard units in DP. 2-4 tac squads with RB a unit of cents and a whirlwind. I will probably fielding an assault army. 1 SG, 2-3 MSU DC, 2 min ccw scouts and some RAS. After puttering around I was able to sit down and finish painting my count as Dante and a sanguinary priest. Both of which are for my ETL. I am hoping to start on the DC and Chaplains this coming Monday. Keravnos Posted May 28, 2015 Author Share Posted May 28, 2015 It's been a little bit since my last update. First off my game this weekend went well. First time using the Vitae veritas.The Kantor/IF army had so many Obsec units. But I was able to pin him back and choke up a couple key areas on the board. Rolled the move through cover and infiltrate Warlord traits. Having 1x SG, 2 xDC and 2x ccw scout units, practically breathing down my opponents neck, really shook him of his game. I weathered quite a bit of fire power but was able to hug cover. A deep striking RAS unit with double melta rang the gong by popping his Hq's transport. After that it was just line up and charge. I realize the odds Favored me in this fight but it felt good to hammer one out with an almost pure JP assault army. Back to the important stuff. My Chaplains and DC for my ETL vow have been base coated and are currently drying from their washes. I hope to have them done by this weekend. The "God of War" chain Hammers are really standing out. From left to right we have Cassor the damned. A fragioso dread, Center is my Libby Dreadnought. Back right is a standard Furioso and last but not least another FW Chaplin dread(he looks like he always needs the talon upgrade. Shred suits him). Which will be painted up in standard colors and show a before and after with his twin. The need some sprucing up with some appropriate icons/ chapter emblems.
