Alternative Miniatures for Guard

Recommended Posts

OK, so in my rough rider discussion I was inquiring about mini manufacturers.

Here's the list I have so far:

Anvil Industries

Victoria MIniatures

PuppetsWar

Scribor Miniatures

Dream Forge

Pig Iron productions

Mad Robot Miniatures

Corvus Belli

EM4 Miniatures

Scotia Grendel

Coppelstone Castings

Four A Miniatures

Hassle Free Miniatures

Heresy Miniatures

Mantic Games

Prodos Games

Ramshackle Games

I'll go through my favorites and find links and edit this. I'd like to build a master list of third party model makers that might help folks out.

If this has already been done feel free to purge this thread like a dirty heretic witch.

edit:

I'm going through the links provided, and in many cases just linking to the homepage, since the company might offer products that a player could find useful outside of normal guardsmen.

Of course, it all depends on how particular about scale. How about slightly taller (30-35mm) troopers?

Mantic have these:

And Prodos Games have these:

With some proper marines here:

I proxy Dwarfs for my Guard... so you could go for these (Mantic again):

... or these (Hasslefree):

I assume this is the most appropriate thread to ask about it, empire of men has released a 3d render of their super heavy tank, dimensions are akin to a baneblade i believe.

approximately 5x9x3 inches

Would chaps say it fair to proxy it as a shadowsword? Other varients it can work as usually, just the shadowsword, being arguably the best is ofcourse a big part of the usage.

Perry miniatures has a lot of horses, and they are 28mm, although I think they are not heroic scaled. You would have to convert the rider to be a guardsman, but the horses are available relatively inexpensively in 3 packs from their website.

They also have packages of "light calvary" that could be converted easily, 12 horsemen for 20 pounds.
