Did Ultramar see any action outside of the Calth campaign?

The topic you should look up is "the shadow crusade". You should read the novel "Betrayer" by ADB, which is actually really popular (and rightfully so). A notable planet would be Armatura.

Betrayer, Purge and(I dread to mention this one) Battle for the Abyss are all novels that are related to the Shadow Crusade, which Calth was a part of. The war involves over 100 worlds with the primary Legions involved being the Word Bearers, World Eaters and Ultramarines with scatterings from all the rest.

Pretty stupid question of me being that I've read all the aformentioned books and looked up the Shadow Crusade just a moment ago!

 

Were any of the worlds named that anyone can remember from the Shadow Crusade?

Armatura - the fortress world was featured heavily in Betrayer and had the bulk of the Ultramarines Evocatii Chapter defending it.

What you're going to run into is that every world named so far as being involved with the Shadow Crusade, has also been destroyed as part of a monumental sacrifice to summon the Ruinstorm. The obvious exception being Macragge.

 

So, if you're looking for a battlefield to take part on as a stage for your army, either you're going to have be willing to be a "small part" in a bigger battle, or you could always create a battlefield.

The Shadow Crusade is stated by Lorgar to have encompassed "a mere one-fifth of Ultramar." That is 100 worlds. 

 

After Isstvan V, Horus "gifted" Lorgar with Angron and his Legion. The two Legions then split their forces into many smaller fleets with the expressed purposes of ravaging Ultramar. 50,000 Word Bearers went with Kor Phaeron to Calth (the less reliable of the XVII Legion, those deemed to have tainted themselves with impure hatred - they were to be expended at Calth as a cull of the XVII Legion). Both Traitor Legions were present on Armatura and later Nuceria. The combined force under Angron and Lorgar (not counting the splinter fleets) destroyed 26 worlds in rapid succession (in one year's time).

I believe Astagar is another planet involved in the Shadow Crusade. Though the Ultramarines actually win that particular fight and bring down what seems to be the first example of a Banelord Titan.
