+++ THE RULES OF THE TUTORIALS AND HOW TO SECTION +++

RULE 1: KNOW THE RULES BEFORE YOU POST!
Before you start posting in the Tutorials section please go through:It is very important to familiarise yourself with both rulesets as they are both applicable in this section. It is also important to be comfortable with how to post images in the B&C and to go through the Tutorial Resources thread. You may find your answers before you even post the questions.

RULE 2: DO NOT POST GENERAL MODELLING/PAINTING QUESTIONS
You should use the Tutorial section only for step-by-step instructions of how to achieve an end result. Questions to the time of "what colour should I use to highlight my Salamanders" belong to the General PCA Questions Forum of the Forge. Similarly questions about where to find modelling supplies or bits also belong to the General Forum of the Forge. Conversely if you do have a step-by-step process to achieve an end result, please post it. You do not have to ask permission or receive a specific request for it. Just do it.

RULE 3: REQUESTING TUTORIALS
This is simple. There is a dedicated thread to request new Tutorials in the Tutorials Resources section here. If you post a request for tutorials anywhere else it will probably be missed. Moderators will be moving such stray Tutorial requests the come across, to the Tutorial Requests topic. If you post Tutorial requests anywhere else in B&C you run the risk of them being deleted as off-topic material.

RULE 4: POSTING A TUTORIAL
Tutorials should be a step by step process showing both text and visuals of how something is done. People will learn your techniques faster and more comprehensively if they have something besides text too look at. A wall of text with no pictures or 10 steps with just a picture of the final result really do not help people very much.

Models shown in tutorials should be from the Warhammer 40,000 setting, including the Horus Heresy setting.

You also need to make sure that both your text and your pictures are clear and concise. Blurry pictures with a bunch of text-chat speak will see the melta-gun turned upon your thread quickly! Save everyone the headache and take the time to craft a quality tutorial. You will get more feedback in the end by taking that extra care at the start.

Obviously if you have a tutorial on your own blog you are free to simply link to that but feel free to repeat the tutorial here if you like.

Make sure you post your tutorial in the appropriate area:

Basing and Terrain
Painting (also decal tutorials)
Modelling, Converting, Sculpting
Photography
