Merry Christmas fraters!! And the best wishes! I hope you have a wonderful time with friends and family!

As some of you might have seen on the Tale of 8 Gamers thread, I finished the first Tyrant's Legion squad/cohort/detachment or whatever Huron calls it.

More pictures at the other thread.

In other news, my order of Victoria Miniatures came in, right before Christmas!

5 men and 5 woman squad and some penal guard!!

Of course, I had to put one together right away! Moar meath shields for the Tyrant!

And my Christmas gift (the Tyrant of Badab insisted on getting me something dead killy):

I'll probably work on the Victoria Miniatures next. I said I'd be doing Claudus Fask after the first squad but he needs some green stuff and conversion work and I'm just too excited to paint Victoria minis!

Anyways, stay tuned for the next updates!

Really nice looking meat shield's, thinking of using tyrants legion for a rogue trader army and was considering Victoria Miniatures as alternative to cadians/catachans (unless GW go mad and release some new plastic guards) as Victoria Miniatures are stunning just wondering how do they compare to GW in size and quality? The one you've assembled looks really clean compared to the resin I have had from GW and FW of late.

The model I assembled is a tad bit smaller and thinner then a regular guardsman from GW. But that's okay considering it's a woman I guess. I haven't compared the males though but I'm expecting them to be more of same size as GW's. And according Victoria's website they should be interchangeable. The quality of the miniatures is fantastic. Nice detailed sculpts and no airbubbles or big moldlines. They did have some flash and the weapons are a bit frail but other then that, their fantastic! So, yeah I really recommend them.

First off, apologies for the photo quality, I was in a hurry.

Anyways, painting the Victoria Miniatures has begone! I'm splitting this 20 men Legion Auxilia squad in three parts. The first part are the gals and a Prefect (a Heresy miniature I bought some time ago- the guy in the middle). The second part are the 5 males and the last ones are the Penal Guard. This way I don't have to batch paint 20 dudesmen at the same time!

So, today I finished all the grey clothing, textured and undercoated the bases:

Thanks for looking and till next time!

Lovely models to paint. Looking forward doing the rest of Victoria Miniatures. So, the first part of the Auxilia squad done, on to the next! C&C welcome as always!

Cheers Venom! Here's the recipe:

- Vallejo Beasty Brown;

- Nuln Oil wash;

- Clean up with Beasty Brown;

- Mix Beasty Brown with Screaming Skull for highlights (a bit more screaming skull then brown);

- Dots of Screaming Skull for the utmost highlights.

"Let them hear the screams of your chainswords brothers. It's the sound of the Tyrant's judgement and their impending doom."
- Nagarek Veteran Sergeant of the Retaliators.

Hello everyone! Small update here, what's better yet, it's an Astral Claw this time! After hours of fiddeling with resin and super glue last monday, I've decided to leave the Legion Auxilia alone for a bit and whipped up a dude in power armour yesterday!

I present thee an, as of yet, unnamed Retaliator:

He was loads of fun to put together! biggrin.png I shaved the markings off of the shield to put some Tyrant's Legion decals later on. Still need to drill out that boltpistol though.

Anyway, let me know what you guys think!! thumbsup.gif

Daaaaaaaamn. That Retaliator is spot-on. He looks brutal and that's exactly how it should be! :tu:

Quick question: is the shield from the Assault Squad box with the details sanded down? It looks terrific and much better without the aquila.

Those guardsmen look awesome, can't wait to see more Astartes arrayed alongside them.

Thanks Soric!

That MK V helmet really makes him look nasty don't it haha.

Yes, it's from the new Assault Squad box! The details were very easy to remove fortunately. :tu:

I've started painting the 5 men of the Legion Auxilia today! I'm currently working on the grey fatigues so nothing really interesting, BUT I do have a new Claw for your viewing pleasure! Really having fun putting these guys together!
