The paint job is done, what's left now are de decals! I'll snap some purty pictures of this fella in the weekend.

I'm happy of how all the colours worked out. I really wanted to do a test run before I began to batch paint. But now I can happily work on the rest. ^^

Hehe glad you spotted that "Fear Us" :D too bad the "us"' is a bit wonky tough lol. Need to touch that up when I do the transfers.

 

Like the name by the way! But I'll use it for a other one ;) it's a bit too fancy for this down to earth guy :D

And since most people struggle with just simple freehand symbols, I think you can be happy with your slighlty wonky writing. ;)

It may be a Light issue, but I have to say I liked the Silver of your first Marine way better...it... popped more! But nethertheless realy realy nice minis, clean painting and gorgeous kitbashing/conversion!

It may be a Light issue, but I have to say I liked the Silver of your first Marine way better...it... popped more! But nethertheless realy realy nice minis, clean painting and gorgeous kitbashing/conversion!

Definitely a light issue. The first marine was photographed outside so the silver was way more bright and reflective. For this shot I used my crappy hobby light haha. I'll be taking some better shots in the weekend, but I'm using my light box nowadays instead of going my backyard.

But I'm glad you like them so far! I'll be painting the rest soon so stay tuned! ^^

Well there he is, done and with decal! I did had to fix the shield tough as it was too dark to see the Tyrant's Claw properly (herp derp). But nothing a quick re-paint couldn't fix! Alright here are some "studio" photographs of our jolly good fellow:

I am pondering on a new recipe for skin for the space marines though. The colours I used for some of the Auxilia (Cadian Flesh tone for example) are way too orangey for my taste. I'm looking for a somewhat more pink-ish and paler skin. You guys got any tips of paints I can look into?

That retaliator looks menacing Levi, good job. Can't wait to see how his brothers turn out. Have you thought about using tallarn flesh and then highlighting up to elf flesh (not sure what their modern day equivalents are called)?

Thanks Soric. Cadian Fleshtone is the equivalent of Tallarn Flesh but I find it too orange. I think I'll look into the other skin tones of GW or perhaps Vallejo and do some tests.

Thanks Dos! I used Dark Reaper as base, darkened it at the bottom with 3-4 layers of watered down Nuln oil and highlighted with Dawnstone.

Indeed. in fact its my understanding from what i have read(limit take with much salt) that only the higher apotheracries and some of the veterans worshipped chaos and that elements of the Inquisition who belive that humanity grows stronger in times of strife and will fall if allowed to be lax (who LOVE to create civil wars) pulled the strings to make the badab war. Also that Huron was corrupted by his apothecarys after his mortal wounding.
