To show you guys I'm not dead, here's a small update of the current status of the Claws:

I'm having a little 40k burn-out and I'm painting more fantasy stuff at the moment then I should be. (shame on me! verymad.gif) But I hope to get my mojo back and finish them in a couple of days.

depthcharge, I used Zandri Dust as base, washed with Reikland Fleshshade, touched it back up with Zandri, gradually highlighted with watered down Ushabti and lastly Screaming skull! :D

Dang it bloodhounds! Why are you doing this to me?! :cuss :P JK! Thanks for keeping me sharp haha! To be fair, I'm sometimes a tad bit confused by their markings and why they swap the colours of their shoulderpads, because this fella:

Has no blue pads at all! Anyway, I'll take a second look at them and swap some colours around.

While the deadline of Tale of 8 Games is long gone (strangely I thought it ended in May... *facepalm*), I'm still working on the Astral Claws. Four Retaliators are now complete (see below for pics), and the only one left to do is veteran sergeant Negarek. I hope to finish him this week.

I think it may be time to deploy my old favourite critique - scrollwork. Your fellas need scribbles, Leviathus - I suggest a Micron fine line pen of about 0.5mm. ;)

Really like the way you paint the eye lenses on those Retaliators Levi. They look great.

Hehe thanks for the succestion! Will look into the Micro pen, because scribbling with paint brush sucks!

Alright guys! The moment you've been waiting for (I hope)! Veteran sergeant Negarek is ready to join his brothers and serve the Tyrant! Stroming into the thick of battle, power axe held aloft to strike his foes.

Super pleased how the power axe came out! smile.png I followed the Advent Calender tutorial from GW, so if you're interested, go watch it! I only added a little bit of Kantor Blue to darken the darkest ends a bit more. In case you're wondering why Negarek carries a Blood Angels dagger with him, he got it from a Lamenter, a friend who's life he once saved.

And for the sake of completion, here's a group pic of everything assembled and painted during Tale of 8 Gamers (well, minus 4 Retaliators, they showed up too late *sniffles*)

Welp, I'll be taking a little break from the Astral Claws and paint some other stuff. Perhaps participate in the ETL, buuuut I've also been eyeballing the Master of the Forge; Valthex! So who knows, I'll be back with some more Badab goodies.

Hello fraters! Whew, it's been a while! Sorry for the radio silence but I had a little 40k hiatus and played some AoS and Blood Bowl. But the Tyrant's call to secession war is, as always, too strong to resist. tongue.png So the Astral Claws and their human underlings are back on the painting queue!

Anyway, I have some pictures of a finished Leman Russ for the Tyrant's Legion I painted in december last year. I used a friend's airbrush to paint the hull. It saves a lot of time and hassle this way. I might even invest in one since there are more tanks to be painted!

I'm very happy how the tank came out and had a blast while painting it. As you can see, I painted two turrents so it can be used as a Battle Tank or a Annihilator in the game (love the Annihilator turrent btw, nice job Forge World!).

All I have are the scant bits I kept and they still need paint (*add pained grunt sound here). That might change now though since some friends and I are going to try this Heralds of Ruin business. However my focus is on my Emperor's Children as I continue on my quest to finish a single army. ;)
