All that makes sense, but was asking more on the gameplay side, is it ever worth spending the points for a serpenta?

If you expect to play against marines or MEQs then, as it pains me to say this, a Serpenta is not the optimal choice. Anything with a save of five or worse, it's possibly one of the better choices.

In reference to this:

Just want to note that I am currently working on there logo with Olis but I don't want to post anything until I get his go ahead.  The idea of using the volkite discharge as part of the logo really inspired me, although I did come at it from a different direction, hopefully you'll approve!  After Olis looks at it today and I make any adjustments he would like, I'll get it posted up here to be shown as well.

I would like to inform you all that Audemus has been busy.

Quite busy indeed.

Our brother has a deft hand for this, no? ^_^

The intention will be to use one of these images as the cover image for the MDRC FB page. Or both. At some point.

Glad I could help out!

I also noticed this quite amusing tid-bit while googling around for some image resources...

If you Google: Volkite Weaponry

...and then click on related images you'll find that up amongst the official art for the game and an ever so wonderful Mars Attacks poster, that despite not even mentioning the word "Volkite" in it, the Enlist Today!  CHOOM Tomorrow! recruitment poster I made is at the top of volkite weaponry related searches.

Spreading the Gospel of CHOOM! one image at a time!

Brothers, the group page has been created (and I somehow thought it was a wee bit more involved than it actually is). Feel free to search for it via FB. You can't miss it, really. The more the merrier.

Edit - Or, y'know, just click the link.

Well, shaking off my burnout(again) finally and I'm now glad that I hadn't gotten around to working on that 10-man Culverin squad as I now have plastic Mk.III and Mk.III WB shoulder pads to make this particular Heavy Support squad. Now to just find time to get them assembled and get some pics!

I've come to claim a kill badge :p

Little game tonight between myself and raktra, my Culverins claimed Orths Sicaran, 3 gorgon and a smattering of tacticals, with some chargers claiming a gorgon and some more tacticals for good measure :p

Corner to corner set up on a 4x4 board, plenty of scenery and things get a bit tight for a tank heavy army!

Turn 1: roll for prescience and malediction on orths sicaran, as I went first it didnt even get to fire, and orth had to join a nearby squad of tacticals, his now wrecked vehicle blocked a spartan from moving the entire game. Thanks for the tactic Athrawes ;)

Chargers claim a tactical (I both love and hate the dice during this match)

Turn 2: culverin stun a contemptor

Turn 3: culverin claim 3 kills on the Gorgon squad

Another tactical dies to a charger

Turn 4: culverin kill a few more tactical

Chargers claim a gorgon.

All the while being battered by the iron hands soundly in other engagements, whirlwind scorpius are evil, terror assault saved my bacon, grav speeders are quite effective even if they don't get their primary target, shooting iron hands isn't the best way to go about business.

But it wasn't too serious a match up given limited space and time constraints, but much fun was had ^_^

Excellent brother, then present the gathered ashes of your slain foes before the ashen altar of the CHOOM God, he shall judge the worthiness of your offering.

Good to see you putting up your man-sized Choom, brother. This is probably going to take some time to finish, depending on detail, but I applaud your idea nonetheless. :tu:

Personally, I'd love to see all posts making it to either here or the FB page going up in the 'sister' branch, but that would be dictatorial to insist on such things and I don't have a funny moustache lying around to make that sort of thing convincing. It's nice to see it happen, though. :P

Looking for some alternative bits, I came upon this- http://anvilindustry.co.uk/Ion-Rifle

Since I don't have any actual choom, I figured this would fit the bill. Would you classify this closer to a charger or caliver?
