The idea behind this ship is that its weaponry is hidden inside the hull/prow of the ship. It's only visible because the ship's hatches are opened. I guess the model could also be used as a Defence Monitor.

A few things that still need to be done:

(1) Tweaking some of the details

(2) Making an enclosed prow variant (where you don't see any weapons protruding)

(3) Make two bits to enclose the top part of the hull, to make it seem as if the turrets are hiding down below in the hull.

These'll be available at Vanguard Miniatures from tomorrow...

Not sure yet when the bombers will be out, but I was curious if anybody would like to see a 6mm version of this one?

I've started working on a Lance Frigate as a follow-up to the Heavy Frigate I've done for Vanguard Miniatures.

I'm wondering which version you guys prefer: 3 lances (sides and bottom), 3 lances (sides and prow), or 4 lances (sides, bottom, and prow)?

I think, while I'm not overly enamoured with the prow gun, that I dislike the keel-mounted lance. So, by process of elimination, I prefer the look of the one with the side mounted lances and the prow gun. Plus, it offers somewhat of a sleeker profile.

Thank you for the feedback guys. At the moment the community (various BFG FB pages and forums) seems to have a preference for the keel mounted one. However, I am tempted to also further develop the prow mounted one just to see if I can pull it off.

In the meantime, I've gotten a little bit distracted with another Destroyer variant, I guess it's a tribute to the old Dominator model:

Hmm, the turrets could be placed underneath the keel, the prow, part of the hull behind the prow, and/or underneath the 'wings' at the back.

You're looking for something rather different from the more conventional BFG designs. Reminds me of this idea I've had many years ago for a Homeworld inspired pre-Imperial ship:

While I think the prow lance did wonky things to the Frigates profile, I think it looks ace on the destroyer.  I think that is due to how the lance looks like it is more above the prow on the destroyer, rather than punching thru the prow on the Frigate.

All versions of both ships look great though.  Makes me want to learn BFG rules.

Started working on my tribute/interpretation of a Kill Ship. Also heavily influenced by that Blood Angels ship from Blood Quest.

The craft has been dubbed the 'Felis class Stealth Ship'. It's a tiny bugger (9.25mm tall, 29.01mm long, 9.89mm wide) that carries weapons that can exterminate entire planets or elite units (including assassins) meant to take out specific targets. A very fast, stealthy, and deadly ship, but totally vulnerable once discovered.

And compared to some of the other ships I've done.

Left (top to bottom): Lynx class Destroyer, Pardinus class Lance Destroyer, Felis class Stealth Ship

Right (top to bottom): Panthera class Heavy Frigate, Escort Carrier (still needs a name), Defence Monitor (still needs a name)
