This is for the Liber Guard/Traitor/Cult Challenge.

Name: Cult of Inverted Rebirth

Home Planet: According to imperial records, it was founded on Cyclus near the Eye of Terror. According to Cult Interrogations it will be founded upon the green pastures of Everbless a perfect world deep within they eye of the Eye, where it is surrounded by tumult but untouched by it.

Currently cells of the cult can be found on many planets around and within the Eye, as well as on many vessels heading in the direction of the Eye.

Founder Name: Bnyamin the Last (Cult claims Bnyamin the First)

Notable Characters (From here on out, all information comes to us from interrogation of cult members and as such is quite suspect information was often given in bursts, so notes are quick and incomplete in some sections.)

Bnyamin the First: The future prophet whose soul travels back in time to teach the cult’s doctrine.

Bnyamin the Prophet: The current body inhabited by Bnyamin the First’s soul.

Bnyamin the Last: The final resting place of Bnyamin the First’s soul. After which, like many souls, it will cease to exist or merge with others as population decreases restrict available bodies.

Crusa the Pyromancer: First to suggest burning the leaders alive in order to divine the future

The first burnt in order to so divine it.

The one whose divination said that future such divinations would save them.

Hoshka the Ruthless

Lead the militarization of the cult in the attempt to quicken the arrival at Everbless via fighting their way there.

The Speakers: those chosen by Bnyamin the Prophet to spread the faith.

History

Bnyamin the First knew in body what the prior histories would bring so he scarred notes upon his soul. His soul then continued its journey back through time in order to bring the truth through history. Once he reached the time noted for the arrival of Bnyamin the Last(Several millenia before Bnyamin the First)  he spent many years collecting and informing a great parish upon his teachings. Though by necessity it had to be a secret cult, as it revealed the falsehoods made bare in the time of ending, he did not care. As the final moments of Bnyamin the Last’s physical life were coming, he self immolated revealing the path which was to be followed back for the cult to return to Bnyamin’s paradise Everbless.

Beliefs:

Souls move backward through time, preincarnations following incarnations following reincarnations as far as the corporeal form is concerned. The memories of the soul are not the memories of the body, and only through death are these memories revealed. The longer one stays dying the further forward in time their soul will remember and be able to speak to you.

Practices:

Burning their own leaders alive before battle to learn of the battle to come.

Ritual self defilement in order to send messages back through past selves.

Known significant battles joined

The Cleansing of The Memoria System: The Memoria System was a system entirely composed of graveyard and shrine worlds, many one and the same. Heroes of the Imperium were buried in particularly high numbers on Memoria Prime. Many in the population of maintenance slaves slowly adopted the cult in the hopes that they might see these heroes in their next lives. The Sisters Midnight of the Adepta Sororitas were sent to eradicate the infestation of heresy. This is the first known sighting of this cult and since it was so widespread within the system, the Sisters Midnight were forced to cleanse the entire system of everyone outside the ruling families. They left a small contingent to prevent further uprisings.

Hoshka’s Vengeance: Militant members of the cult under Hoshka the Ruthless manage to disrupt the cryomaintenance machines of Memoria Prime and in doing so sends the planet into meltdown. The few Sisters Midnight who remained after the 50 years since the cleansing of the system are all slain in the initial explosions. Hoshka tears a bloody hole through nearby planets before the cult is once again stamped down by the combined forces of the Sisters Midnight and the Imperial Guard. How survivors escaped this second censure is still unclear.

The Cadian Uprising: A splinter of the cult attempted to shortcircuit the prophecy by opening the Cadian Gate. They were betrayed from within and burnt for heresy. It was later revealed the betrayal was intentional in order to set up inside agents for the 13th Black Crusade.

13th Black Crusade, fighting for both sides in an attempt to find a way to enter into the Eye itself more fully.

They fought on whichever side got them closer to the Eye of Terror by the end of it.

Verdict: Destroy every instance of this with medium priority, they pose less military danger than some other cults, but the notion of salvation outside the Emperor alone would be enough to warrant their extermination, let alone their other blasphemies and heresies.

Thanks, feel free to offer any advice, as it needs to be finished before next friday. I especially am interested in expanding some of their notable engagements and figuring out what sort of colours and iconography they would use.

I like them. Feels properly absurd and insane for a cult, so knowing the warp's strange ways it might just work. After all, the Orks and both sides of the Mechanicus alike manage to make the power of their gods manifest.

You could have them infiltrate an Imperial Memorial World, a world covered in monuments, mausoleums, and graveyards of some all but forgotten Imperial heroes. The current population might be tasked with up keeping the memorials, but do to ignorance, cruel taskmasters, or the crushing bleakness of your typical Imperial subject, receptive to a radically different view of the afterlife. The goals of the cult may be to glean information from the dead entombed on this world. Perhaps the dead weren't the upstanding heroes that the Imperium portrays them to be, and were in fact tainted. In any event, an Imperial suppression would eventually be ordered. You could use any Imperial Faction, but the Soritas may be the most appropriate.
