Will try to contribute my own advice too. Also looking into creating my own Chapter, but that's very much in the early stages. Previously collected Necron's for 11 years and CSM (Alpha Legion). That's the corner of B&C that I help look after, so I may be a little biased when I say it's the best place for you in regards to making a DIY.
