Warcolours Paint Line

Recommended Posts

One of the guys who started this company is a regular on the bugmans brewery boards for dwarf whfb.  He is a chemist for a paint company and his main goal was good paints, for a good price.  The testing of the paints on the bugmans board seems to have gone well.  I plan on buying a set, tired of my gw paints not closing properly and getting thick and goopy.

Here is a link to the paint and some feedback.

I might give these guys a try (out of my own pocket), since from what I see they look pretty cool. The bio on the creator just makes it more reassuring.

They have multi-country currency that accepts USD, they use droppers, their website is clean, minimalistic, and looks good. What really caught my eye was the cheap, empty droppers they sell so you can put your P3, Citadel, or FW paints in, and they're made of what looks like very crystal clear "LDPE plastic", unlike the foggy, semi-opaque droppers you get from Vallejo and other companies that distort the colors.

Well so far I'm finding that they work similarly to 90's Citadel paints, some colours are standing out and they do blend quite easily.

But I'm gonna do a bit more experimenting before I do a review :tu:

After the successful launch of our acrylic paint line (www.warcolours.com), consisting of 92 beautiful colors, we have embarked on our trip to our next target, which was to produce a high quality, yet affordable, line of metallic paints.

We have sent out 40 bottles of our BETA testing copper paint to miniature painters all over the world. The feedback was really good and everybody really liked the paint. (see the online discussions here).

After making the required alterations to the paint formulas, the metallic paints have been perfected and are ready to be launched.

We have formulated a total of 20 different metallic paints, making the WARCOLOURS metallic range the most versatile metallic range out there. We have even managed to offer metallic colours that have never been seen by miniature painters before (i.e. metallic red), and some classic metallics, missed by many are offered (i.e. violet, blue, green etc).

First of all you will receive a discounted price and secondly: Paint production and bottle filling, requires exact quantities, Rather than producing an estimated amount of bottles for each metallic colour and risking under/over-production (leading to delays, time-wasting and increased costs), we decided to offer them as a pre-order. This way we will be producing the correct number of bottles for each colour, minimising our costs and ultimately offering the best possible price.

I bet those metallic blue and green colors will be popular with Heresy Alpha Legion fans.

I'd wager that Purple would be popular as well. We dont see that many Amethyst Alpha Legion around..
