Alexos is a psyker and a gene-scientist, he likes to fiddle with your genes and create a super-human monster out of you

Aaand Kozja's not above trying to mix gene-seed strains in an attempt to get the best of each, with the goal to create to create the supreme legion, and uses the recipe for Thunder Warriors on his auxilia.

Now, with that in mind, I have several ideas. One would be a Nikaea-style moratorium on geneseed tampering. With the concerned legion disregarding it as much as the psyker-heavy legions did Nikaea. Another, experiments getting systematically awry.

Aaaaaand I have a certain Primus Medicae who dabbles (to put it lightly) in genetic modification, triggering the geneseed flaw in my XI

Instead of Psychic Shenanigans we have peeps who just looooove to mess around with the Human Genetic Template?

I can see Big E getting Uppity about it!

*dies of laughter*

But yeah, Alexos also creates semi-astartes at some point. they are exact clones, but very unreliable and kinda dumb, also very prone to mutations

Kind of rolls well into the drowned. I'd be on the side of the genetic mutator; something I've noted is that there is literal no talk of naval (aquatic) battles. The Drowned's fluff originally had them as the "Dive Coteries", originating from Sub Goreo-Cathay Sinkholes (the last sources of natural standing water on Terra), and recruited into the Legiones Astartes initially as high pressure and 3 dimensional combat experts, operating many flying craft and the specialised equipment for fighting in high pressure 3 dimensional locations. They are notable for use in campaigns based on solid ground in use of Termites, Dragon-Nymph's Mole Mortars, and other subterranean assaults, excelling at siege assaults. With the nature of their combat, they have a particular association with less solid ammunition, and prefer laser and volkite weaponry, as well as that of melee weapons.

Their Primarch, "Sorrowsworn Morro" himself latched onto the idea quickly; his belief in the Genetic Tampering to not only advance the ability of his soldiers into becoming better at fighting in such locations (going to far as to specifically capture the Fleshsmiths of the Eldar), by the time of the Heresy going so far as to suggest that they could recreate the Emperor himself.

I see him either as the Lorgar (if that's okay with everyone), bringing Chaos to the Imperium in that manner, or as the Magnus (attempting to harness the power of the genesmithing, but delving so far as to risk chaos influence. For punishment, if there is a Space Wolves analogue, then I'd see him go to the Emperor for punishment; but learning along the way (as a result of Chaos) that his goal is to become some fuel for the Golden Throne; his regenerative abilities gained as a result of the flesh-smiths workings making him able to act as the "bulb" or "filament" in the beacon that will heal any damage, although not a Psyker, the nature of the Primarch's creation letting him act as the locus for all the power, focusing it into a beam which will be shone through the lens that is the throne. Seeing his "true" fate, and the nature of the Emperor, and visions of the 41st millenium (as it stands with neverending war), The Sorrowsworn gives himself to Chaos, and is returned to his Legion, joining the "rebels/traitors".

needs work, of course.

I'm absolutely in favor of a genetic Nikaea. Hell Daer'dd would find genetic modification on Astartes an abomination and cause for censor. He believes the greatest gift Astartes and Primarchs received is the Emperor's "blood". Why tamper with perfection?

Because its perfection has been broken in twenty shards, an oversight the Emperor left to his sons to fix by creating the One True Legion. Such would be Kozja's main defense at [Nikaea-equivalent]

Alright, I've finally finished the Loyalist/Traitor list. Each Primarch now has 5 traits next to their name. (Also, Athrawes, for all of the work you've done, you've written surprisingly little on Icarion. I went through your entire thread looking for POV writing before I gave up.)

Nature

2 Combat/Legion specialties

Dominant personality trait

Views on Xenos

The last one was a dud. I thought I saw some variation and that it could influence major events. Nope.

Next up is the foundation of the timeline: primarch discovery and who the Emperor chooses as Warmaster.

This is going to be interesting because there's going to have to be a balance between what the story needs and what we want.

I have a system devised for the Warmaster at least. Each frater gets to nominate 3 Primarchs for the post. The Emperor will give bonus votes and will veto certain candidates. Just remember Horus.

my primarch is not anti-xeno at alllll ;) he implements ork and eldar genes into semi-astartes in his legion at some point

Btw, whos gonna be the arch traitor and the arch loyalist?

I dont wanna sound... ego-centric.. But my primarch would love to be a canidate for arch traitor.. just saying...

Looking good, and I like that idea for a system.  Just a couple of points:  Koschei is firmly pro-xenos and Azus' 'bipolar sanity' is not always present, only after genetic meddling.  I'll read up on all the Primarchs again before I make my votes for Warmaster

Mmhm. Where should I stick my Ghost Walkers?

They're Native American influenced Astartes recon teams. Hierarchy tends to gravitate towards Dreadnought Ancients and "Medicine Men" - latent biological psykers who perform the apothecary tasks of the legion.

I'm aware, and Alexos will play a pivotal role for Chaos. I don't know if he will be the Arch-Traitor, but if he isn't I can easily see him being the Favorite of Chaos Undivided.

I'll chuck in my vote, Either Alexandros, Icarion or Raktra. These are the first three lost legion primarchs I viewed, and are part of what made me start my own lost legion thread. Also, Raktra would be a different approach to how the Warmaster would be expected to act, using ferocity instead of reason. Could lead to some interesting confrontations between the legions...

Also Jackel does love his opportunistic strikes, using speed, ingenuity and the terrain around him to wear down the enemies morale and tear the throat from their command chain

You're breaking my heart, depth! We have a full roster as it is, even though I'd be honored to have your legion here. I suppose you can ask if anyone is willing to bow out.

I nominate Alex as head of the traitors, if he's swinging that way. I imagine he'd be a different kind of leader - regretful about the division, rather than relishing in it. Needs must, and all that. Like Ozymandias in Watchmen.

Well, Gwalchavad was a Muggle, but he lost cut off the ties of the warp and became a pariah^^

For the combat, heavy range is okay, but he is close combat as well. specialty boom with his guns, and smash with his fists (tonfas^^)

If combat is inevietable.

What abaout the 3 fraction thing. would love to be on the side of the rebells who are neither for the emperor or chaos

Unless... he became one of the lost legions.  That way the ghost walkers can still take part in this madness.  Just a thought.

EDIT:  Second the three factions
