How to Deathwing With New DA Codex?

750 pts is a little tight to play pure DW. But if you really want, take the Formation on page 158 and use a Venerable dreadnought in drop pod. That will allow you to have something on T1 so you won't lose the game automatically. Then a Librarian as HQ and as much terminators as you can fit in.... But it will be very tight!

Pure Deathwing at 750 points is tough to do, but here goes nothing...

750 Pt. Deathwing Strike Force

* Belial

* Venerable Dreadnought: multi-melta, power fist w/storm bolter

* Drop Pod: storm bolter

* (5) Deathwing Terminator Squad: storm bolters & power fists

* (5) Deathwing Terminator Squad: storm bolters & power fists

750 points even.  That is only 13 models, but they are pretty tough.  There are no points involved in any upgrades, but then you shouldn't need any more than this at 750 points- you need bodies!!! Equip Belial as you wish, though I wouldn't recommend lightning claws.  If you run up against armor then you have the multi-melta and a ton of power fists to beat it down. If you run up against hordes then you have 26 bolter shots and a multi-melta to punish them with, and more from Overwatch if (or rather when) they charge you.  Remember that every unit in the army, other than the Drop Pod, can Shoot & Run or Run & Shoot the turn it Deep Strikes into play- even the Venerable Dreadnought. Don't have your Drop Pod and Venerable Dreadnought Deep Strike in somewhere that the enemy can hit them with everything and auto-win by killing them both on Turn 1. Attack a flank with EVERYTHING you have, and roll the enemy.  Vindicators and other models with AP 1 or 2 blast attacks should be priority targets. Good luck!

I don't know about running belial as an HQ at this small a point value. Despite the fact that they cost a bit, upgrades are very good. A tau list with 3 plasma crisis suits would tear this list a new one, and kite the heck out of you. Here's my proposal;

Deathwing (750pts)

Dark Angels: Codex (2015) (Deathwing Strike Force)

HQ

Librarian

Psyker Level 2

Terminator Armour

Combi-Melta, Force Axe

Elites

Deathwing Terminator Squad

5x Deathwing Terminators (incl. Sergeant), Heavy Flamer, 2x Thunder Hammer and Storm Shield

Deathwing Terminator Squad

5x Deathwing Terminators (incl. Sergeant), Heavy Flamer, 2x Thunder Hammer and Storm Shield

Venerable Dreadnought Squadron

Venerable Dreadnought

Twin-Linked Heavy Bolter (or autocannon)

Drop Pod-Storm Bolter

Power Fist-Storm Bolter

Of course you can play around with the upgrades, but this list provides a couple of 3++ saves, so with good positioning, you might be able to shrug off some ap2 fire. The Venerable Dreadnought provides some good first turn rate of fire from a range. The last thing you want is for it to get charged and killed turn 1 after bad scatter, so it provides you with more flexibility on placement.

By eliminating Belial, you made the heavy flamers very difficult to use. I would put a locator beacon on the drop pod to compensate.

The biggest risk to running pure Deathwing at such low points is that you only get one dreadnought and a pod on the table to start.

Well, you asked for Deathwing, not Deathwing-ish.  I wouldn't normally run any Deathwing in a 750 point list.  Though he eats up points, I did include Belial because you could be defeated before you even start at this points level if even one unit scatters bad enough/has a teleport mishap.  Belial at least ensures that one unit will be dead on target, which when combined with the Run & Shoot or Shoot & Run bit will have him and his unit almost exactly where you want them right from the start.  The Drop Pod Venerable Dreadnought is also a fairly safe unit to deploy, and along with Belial's squad will very likely only have to weather one turn of fire from whatever survived their own firing before being able to bring the WRATH to the enemy.  Also, if using full Deathwing that enters play from Deep Strike Reserve, you can very easily avoid the effects of the One Eye Open rule.  Speed is nice, but you won't really need it much when you drop into the midst of the enemy.

Also, your above list is 830 pts, and Unbound. Drop the Scout squad and the extra Libarian level, and you can run thsoe 750 points as a Deathwing Redemption Force plus Ravenwing Attack Squadron Battleforged army.  You ought to be able to deploy the Ravenwing far enough away from the Chaos forces so that One Eye Open doesn't matter (especially considering the Ravenwing Attack Squadron has Scout).  Not bad at all.
