What you needs vs what you buy?

Just a fun topic stemming from the fact I need Drop Pods but have instead bought:

A Sanguinor

Some Sang Guard

Seth

Old School BA captain

Too many mk1 tanks to mention

And a Deredeo Dread.

I almost bought a Sicaran too today...

So fellow scions of the Angel, what have you bought for your hobbies, even though you actually need something else?

I've got a whole chest of grey plastic stuff I bought and don't really 'need'. Mostly things I just wanted to paint before I actually started playing the game. I'm trying to only buy stuff I need now, but it's hard :D

I also need more drop pods - drop pods are awesome.

I'm thinking I should pick up at least 2 more drop pods, which would give me 5... I've been running 3 now pretty consistently lately and when I've been making lists I come to that spot where i have to start using rhinos/backs lol... But... instead I've bought myself a Sicarian... Librarian with force staff.... A vanguard squad.... a scout squad... So yeah...

Drop pods: the literal worst thing to spend your time, money and effort on but one of the best things in the game!

Agree with this statement whole heartedly. Pain in the backside to build, but they are great in game. I've got 1 built and painted and 1 still on sprue...

I've got such a backlog of things to paint, that I'm determined not to buy anything else until I've made some headway. The only things on my radar are the plastic HH marines set when it drop and the FW BA upgrade kits, I'll be buying them when they are released.

Haha :D, for me it's sometimes too hard. I have two different LRs, and I only use one (if any) in a game. But since I bought these awesome Blood Angles LR doors and front from FW, I have to buy another LR as soon as my sallary arrives. Hopefully I have time to get it in for the Death Company challence :)

I have 4 drop pod currently, but I'm working my way towards 7.

I also "need" another 15 Vanguard Vets, a Command Squad and a third Storm Raven so I can run some of the less lousy BA detachments.

So naturally I spent the last of my money on a Sicarian. >_<

Anyone else just trawl ebay looking for already made and painted BA pods? Got one that way so far

I trawl for any pods, problem is I never want to pay more than about £18 including postage as I can get a new one for £16 from Dark sphere in London, but that includes the cost of a train ticket. So I see the extra £2 as a "building and undercoat" tax :P

Another problem for me is I don't always know what I need. I read up on what works for people and try something new but by the time I finish whatever I was building / painting before, buy / build / paint the new thing, a new 'dex is out and it got nerfed :D

Oh for Sanguinius' sake!

I just can't help myself...

Just bought a CAESTUS ASSAULT RAM.

Who needs pods when you can just use a ridiculous flyer amirite?

(I did also manage to get one pod too...)

Just found out that the bloody thing is a fast attack choice. Holy hell that rocks.

Only ten, that's all it can take - but it ignores bulky so could be ten terms! And even then, it's the general consensus that it cannot transport units with Jump Pack's (even though it says it can transport ten models regardless of the model's type) and most of my DC have packs.

Considering some Vanguard Veterans, Mephiston and a Priest to go int it but otherwise unsure...

Ah, the Spartan Tank! Yeah that thing is a monster.

Multiple people have and the best they usually get is "decide amongst your gaming group or roll off on it!" the wording of "type" leads me to believe maybe, but it depends whether type refers to "infantry/ jump infantry/ jet infantry" etc or "normal /bulky/ very bulky"

Oh well, any brothers made some mad purchases recently?
