Hammer of Olympia Posted August 30, 2015 Share Posted August 30, 2015 Hello fellas, I've read the newly released short novel Monolith,and after reading that I'm a bit interested with playing with Elysians,they remind me of Operation:Overlord. So for 500 pts of Elysians,say we took the army list from the new Anphelion Project,which is the latest army list for Elysians. Any ideas on what to bring to 500 pts game? I know its a bit small and near impossible to fit it,but because its mainly Forge World items to get so it wont be cheap on my end. Thanks! I don't know them in great detail, but I wonder if point costs aside maybe 500pts might be good for them as it prevents opponents from loading up on troublesome units? 500pts is always a bit of a squeeze for Guard though, so I'd focus on getting plenty of models on the table if you can. You can also look at some light armour, for example a Sentinel. Do Elysians have Vet squads as troops? Platoons are good, but eat a lot of points at 500... As for the models there's nothing stopping you using the cool Elysians for Codex: Astra Militarum Imperial Guard well the background for elysians in the anphelion book is that they are the last of the 99th regiment,so they are all veterans,and they got cool enchantments from the inquisition,that makes them BS,WS 4 and I 4,which is pretty cool.they also got a custom set of 'warlord traits' they could die of instantaneously of heart attack or got brittle joints,or go berzerk,quite interesting and fluffy IMO, and yes their only troop option is veterans,cause the whole remaining 99th regiments are all veterans.They could be armed with mortars/heavy bolter/missile launcher,and the standard flamer,grenade launcher,sniper rifle,melta gun,plasma gun,and lascutters. if you want you could download the Anphelion project from the yaaaarrrgghhh bay. Spend the remaining points on some guns for them (unless I'm wrong but I don't think you have enough for a third veteran squad.) Yes,I will mostly take the D-99 and about the Vulture http://i2.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/facebook/000/012/367/evilest.gif I really like the idea,I could arm the remaining squad with Missile launchers or heavy bolters,but other than taking Vultures and flyers,which is kinda hard to counter at 500 pts.Is there another alternative? Considering my opponent won't go :cuss moment on me,like some player..... (he plays space wolves and he brings a bloody landraider in a 500 pts game!)
