[saved here for future use, thanks again Hesh.]

Morro's dabbling with Dark Eldar fleshwarping sees him unwittingly have his soul sacrificed to Slaanesh through some daemonic implantation; Morro's legion has rapidly swelled in numbers following the events hidden in conspiracy. Before he is able to lose his soul entirely, he clutches on and wrestles it back, but his psyche is shared with that of a Greater Daemon; Zarakynel, N'Kari, Ingethel, or as yet another to be decided; with the promise of execution of the entirety of the Eldar species he is able to save himself and his legion.

With the outbreak of the Insurrection, Morro is able to keep it in check, and makes it his mission to eliminate any interfering Eldar forces, enlisting the aid of Slaanesh Daemons and hordes of enthralled populace. As Morro collects his forces for a hammerblow on Terra, the legion's more independent minded commanders had collected their own loyalists. They had already noticed changes happening to their forces, Morro's geneseed in their chests were corrupting them regardless of their actual personal bent. When the commanders (from their own ships) challenged Morro - knowing their primarchs attitude to things - some agreed with his decision, others immediately rebelled, the legion tearing itself apart as brother fell on brother, and Morro fled with his Flagship (Queen of the Damned, a heavily modified Gloriana class) to the muster point.

Morro took to the planetary assault head on, his rampage stopped by Mortera of the Mechanicum Abyssii. Triggering hidden kill switches in suits of armour and weapons of those few legionaries who stuck with Morro by accident or design, and near truedeath himself, Morro finally sells his soul, and realising his legion has been broken that there is no hope to save them, drags their souls into the Abyss with him. With an influx of warp power, he bursts free of Mortera's grasp but is shielded by Pionus, and a newly arrived Hennasohn and some of the Drowned who were loyal to him. The Primarch and the former legion commander sacrifice themselves but in order to finally destroy Morro's resistance, the possessing Greater Daemon relaxes control as Pionus is crushed in Morro's grasp. Thinking that Morro would be cast into the abyss by the revelation and with his former prediliction in morro's attitude they didn't count on the reverse actually happening; with his loyal followers disabled or dying, surrounded by Hennasohn's 'loyal Drowned' (only a small contingent of several thousand) and bombarded by Fire Keepers, Mechanicum forces, and the Scions, with the nearest forces of the traitors, Morro cast himself into the warp ending his role in the actual Insurrection. Those loyal Drowned who made their way to Terra are eliminated by Mortera's unflinching role, and recognising the threat they face from both sides, turn on them both before being killed to a man.

Following the Siege, Morro is able to travel between worlds by putting them to the torch, but can only make short 'hops' into the Warp. The scouring forces are able to track down this creature massacreing worlds (think in Cthulu manner), with a certain amount of help from Ahriman (who fled into the webway vis a vis the destruction of the Thousand Sons), Eldrad Ulthran, and a collection of Phoenix Lords.

I see it as several stages;

1. Morro discovered. Seen as the runt, weakling, and the only Primarch to enslave his own planet.
2. Challenged by Russ, and captures Rakarth. (Hint; Rakarth allows himself to be captured, scheming in the background from Be'lakor, Slaanesh, and the Eldar). Rakarth begins experimentation on self and those of his legion nearby.
3. Vlka Fenryka and Thousand Sons are lost from Imperial records.
4. Icarion Insurrection occurs. Morro targets Pionus.
5. Failing to eliminate Pionus, Morro begins hunting Eldar soulstones.
6. Legion gathers for Siege, XVIth legion shatters into constituents.
7. Siege; when wall is breached, beaten by Mortera, give in to chaos, begins to corrupt Terra and force people to take their own lives, Hunts down Mortera, but is driven off by Pionus letting her escape, Hennasohn's ship unloads on the planet, and help fight Morro, but the long siege means they aren't the match for the DaemonMorro and are killed (ish, in the case of Pionus), but Morro is driven off.
8. The 'Scouring' ; Morro tries to heal his legion by sacrificing himself to slaanesh as well as the souls of as many people as possible. The Eldar connections with Pionus lead them to fight him together, and Morro sees a chance to save his legion and himself once more; potentially getting into the webway and getting the Black Library and Commoragh and dragging the souls of all the entire Eldar race into the abyss.

1, 2 and 3 are prior to Insurrection and outside of the scope of the story, but alluded to in fluff, while 8 again could be a followup.

For the Legendary Battles; there is the underwater war; perhaps taking the fight to Iona with rules for underwater fighting, and the Siege part 1, basically giving all models in the Drowned gains Gets Hot attacks and roll to see if they count as always being if Difficult and Dangerous terrain, siege Part 2 sees a Mega Battle with Morterra, Pionus and Hennasohn bringing around 6000pts to fight against Morro, and an endless tide of Slaanesh Daemons lead by Belakor.

Please remember to rechange the wardens back to the last book please as them beeing in book 2 is absolutly senseless

I just finished editing. Demus, the Fire Keepers have been bumped up to Book 2, which fits better with the Ghost Walkers. Eagle Warriors are back to attacking the Abyssii Forge World.

Primarch Auras

Icarion -  slightly hypnotic, he would appear to be whatever the viewer needs him to be most, and that acts as a perception filter over not only his physical appearance, but his body language and even his words.

Hectarion - mortals, they feel like, no matter the odds they're facing, victory and glory await them and like this was a man that they were born to follow

Yucahu -  feel as if he could see everything, everywhere. He sees all, judges all, with the cold stare of a bird of prey.

Alexandros - when you're in his sights, you feel safe and light-hearted, like this is a guy you could share some secrets or have a beer with, and he naturally radiates trust. The grin probably helps.

Daer'dd -  feeling of dread, permanencey, and being overwhelmed. That his immense physicality is something that couldn't be over taken, and nothing could stop him, that challenging him is an automatic defeat, that you will fail against him.

Raktra -  literally sees through you, he can see every last minor weakness your biology holds, so I guess, mixed in with his general attitude, contempt/dismissal verging on indifference

Koschei -  they feel inspired, with an insidious touch of self-doubt

Kozja -  air of nobility that seems to be imparted into you when he is present. You feel empowered, despite knowing you are a lesser being.

Niklaas - ???

Gwalchavad - love, a deep understanding of their needs.[?]

Travier - ???

Azus - ...invisible?

K'awil - but over that comes a sense of dread for he gives off the aura of a wild beast kept captive and ready to lash out. You feel yourself being weighed  and judged based on your level of threat, you are either predator or prey

Morro - Unnatural stillness

Jade General - ???

Nomus - ???

Pionus - ???

Andezo - ???

One thing to add for Daer'dd- if you get past the initial overload, you find one of the friendliest souls you could ever hope to meet. Although that in itself can be rather overwhelming.

My image of Pionus so far is a serious, but caring and very human scientist. Whereas the Jade General is a far more clinically minded individual; to mortals he may well come off as the least human of the Primarchs.

Hey guys, I can't find the info on the sizes of loyalist and traitor elements among divided Legions (although I know the Berserkers stand at 120,000 to roughly half that number of Shepherds of Eden). Any chance we could get them down here?

The 3rd Fleet stands at roughly 11 000 traitor Morning Stars, and among the 5th fleet about 4 500 renegades never return to the Warmaster. Note for later: closest approximate of Void Eagles strength is 112 000.

Morro's aura is just reminiscent of the listlessness and searing, incessant heat that strikes a becalmed ship. There is no breeze or stir of water, as Morro does not emotion colour his outer self, just a glassy smooth surface under the burning gaze of an ever present sun. As he repressed feelings begin to come out as a result of his possession, this breaks down, and it becomes as tempestuas as a typhoon.

Calvinean Ecclesiarchy
Founded upon the battlefields of Calvine during the Scouring, the Calvinean branch of the imperial creed has one fundamental belief: when the Emperor was mortally wounded upon Terra and as he was interred in the Golden Throne, the Emperor's soul fragmented. Only a small morsel of it stayed in his earthly form. The billions upon billions of fragments of his soul that were scattered found refuge within the wider mass of humanity. Seeing that he would no longer be able to protect humanity in person, the Emperor had instead chosen to impart a portion of his strength and will to each of his subjects so that they could protect themselves. Calvineans believe that the only souls the Emperor will save upon the last day are those who used the power he gave them to save themselves and humanity through their self sacrifice. For Calvineans, the purest death is death in battle against the Emperor's foes. Those who die in such a maner will be granted the ultimate honour: the morsel of his strength the Emperor gave them shall rejoin the Emperor's consciousness, bringing him one step closer to re awakening.

Thoran Ecclesiarchy
Believe the Emperor allowed himself to be struck down on Terra in order to test his subject's faith. Only the elect few who's faith held strong and who didn't give in to despair in spite of hardship would be saved. The Thoran branch of the imperial faith believe that the faith of each individual must be tested every day and they must hold true to the course set for humanity by the Emperor in order to be saved. Because of this, Thorans live by strict set of 10 commandments which test them to temper the faith.

Purist Ecclesiarchy
Believe that salvation by the Emperor is not something that can be altered by a human's actions. Instead, it is pre ordained by the purity of the human's form. Those whose form echoes that of the Emperor are those who are to be saved. Those whose form is that of a mutant are the damned.

Tolosan Ecclesiarchy

While many cults of the Imperial Creed preach the superiority of the male form over the female, for the Emperor was himself male, the Albigenseans instead preach the equality of all humanity, stating that the form of humanity is irrelevant and all that matters is that the soul of humanity remains pure and untainted by xenos, chaos or mutants. As such, men and women are treated equally within the Albigensean cult and it possesses two heads, the Mouth of the Emperor, who is always male, and the Bride of the Emperor, who is always female. Aside from this, the Albigensean's share much in common with the Calvineans and is believed to have split from the Calvinean cult in early M.31 shortly after Alexandros legalised the Imperial Creed.

Grindan Ecclesiarchy

Believe that no individual can be shown salvation. While every soul may be guided, none can be shown the way and each must find it by themselves. The Grindan cult has no head, instead holding everyone equal beneath the gaze of the Emperor.

Event which unites the Ecclesiarchy: Relations between the various cults deteriorates to such an extent that all out civil war breaks out between them sometime in M.33 or M.34. This war ends when they are united by Saint () and at the Conclave of () add several volumes to the Lectitio Divinatus in which is recorded everything that is agreed upon by all the various branches of the Ecclesiarchy. After that they don't fight each other but instead jockey for power within the Ecclesiarchy.

Potential Theological concepts regarding the Primarchs:

The Damned

Alexos Travier - The Arch-Heretic, The Corrupter/Tempter, The Trickster - Name is blotted out by most branches of the Ecclesiarchy, considered the worst of the fallen Primarchs.

Icarion Anasem - The Arch-Traitor, The Fool, The Fallen Star - Highly controversial, due to his last act of self-sacrifice. Spectrum opinions range that he redeemed himself to belief that his act of redemption was merely a false rumor. What adds further conflict to the debate is the actions of his sons, few of whom have returned to the Emperor's light while the worst continue to haunt the Imperium, especially Raiden.

Raktra Akarro - The Destroyer, The Tormentor, Khorne's Champion - Feared in both life and in unlife, the Ecclesiarchy teaches that those who are needlessly cruel to others, are doomed to die and become slaves and suffer a thousand forms of torture at Raktra's claws. As for the Primarch himself, he is seen as the ultimate embodiment of physical, bloody destruction among his brothers.

K'awil Pakal - The Terror, Master of Darkness, The Slain Devil - Due to being a Pariah and truly dying, K'awil, ironically, is much more featured in sermons and over writings due to the lack of any chance of inadvertently strengthening him, unlike Travier and Akarro. By the time of 40k, K'awil has taken equal portions as feared boogeyman told as warnings against misbehaving children and as an example of the danger of walking too long in darkness from both a physical and metaphysical viewpoint.

Sorrowsworn Morro - The Soul-Eater, Monster of the Deep, Champion of Slaanesh - Morro is the sole Primarch to become a devil among both Humanity and the Eldar for his horrid deeds. The Daemon Primarch is said to be consumed by an insatiable hunger for the souls of others, stalking them from beneath the waves until he strikes. Like K'awil he is another aspect of the dangers of straying too far from the light of Humanity. Unlike K'awil, he is not associated with the dark so much as 'bottomless' depths. It is said that he can only be summoned in the deeps.

Koschei Kharkovic - The Pestilence, Bringer of Sorrows, Nurgle's Champion - Koschei is held up as a cautionary tale of not merely holding steady to one's beliefs, but holding true to the right principles. It is taught that he alone among his monstrous brothers regrets his choices in life. Now, his soul and heart are consumed by a bitterness that renders him a plague to Mankind as that same bitterness manifests as a virulent disease that consumes all he approaches, forever denying him the hope of connection.

Andezo Sambedi - The Blind One, The Deserter, The Missing Son - Unlike Gwalchavad, Andezo's late betrayal has sealed his fate as being counted as one of the Damned. His first title refers not to just his physical disability, but his blindness of spirit. It was this that led to him heretically investing his trust in Icarion. He is an especially popular figure among the Inquisition, who hold him up as the danger of seeking victory against Chaos through treachery and evil. His last title is much more prosaic as few know his final fate, given that he abruptly disappeared at the end of the Insurrection.

The Misguided

Nomus Sardauk - The Inhuman, Purveyor of Knowledge, The Ghost in the Shell - Nomus, along with the other Suzerainty Primarchs, occupy an odd space among the Ecclesiarchy's teachings. Although once Traitors, the Suzerainty Primarchs escaped the Path of Damnation but aren't truly counted among the Blessed Sons. Nomus in particular is treated as the Sophmore, the 'Wise Fool'. It is said that he possesses most of the information in the entire galaxy, but doesn't truly know what to do with it. To be referred as a 'Nomus' means to be incredibly intelligent but lacking deeper wisdom. At worst, it is used as an insult for being blind to important truths.

The Jade General - The Warrior, The Inquisitive Lord, The Fallen One - While Nomus may represent the folly of not having wisdom, Jade is an example of intelligence put to poor use. Forever known as the Primarch who was slain by his own creation, it is through him that the Ecclessiarchy teaches temperance is important in the field of academics, not just life. Likewise, the Mechanicum too use the General as the reason why their ways involve thoroughness and caution.

Kozja Darzalas - The Ruler, Heir of Arrogance, The Reckless One - It is taught that Kozja's ultimately flaw was not his mind but his heart. Kozja is spoken that for all of his brilliance, he could not truly master his emotions. So, his emotions were the master of him and would cost him his body and leave him in a state of stasis for the length of existence. It is debated among some priests that Kozja may be restored to his former self if he were to surrender his arrogance and paid penance to the God-Emperor of Mankind.

Gwalchavad - The Two-Natured, The Masked One, The Traitor-in-Hiding - Out of all of the Primarchs who fought in service to the Imperium, only Gwalchavad is denied a place among the Blessed. This is due in no doubt to his seemingly last-minute decision to enter the Insurrection. As such, not even Icarion is subjected to more controversy and debate over the nature of Gwalchavad and the nature of his actions. In the worst light, he is a villain, an opportunistic warlord who waited until he knew which side would benefit him the most. In the best light, he is a mistaken knight, constantly trying to stand up for the right principles only to learn how poor his choices were until far later. For his detractors, the moral lesson typically revolves around integrity and transparency, to be honest toward your fellow Man. For his supporters, the lesson becomes the importance of recognizing one's nature. To war against one's own nature is to invite ruin.

The Blessed

Azus Bahumat - The Shadowed One, Defender of the East, The Third Martyr - Rightly or wrongly, many branches of the Ecclesiarchy consider Azus the least among the Blessed Sons. He avoided the typical inspirational victories of glory. He did not defend Holy Terra at the apex of the Insurrection. He fought most of the war in the Far East. Finally, he treated the growing Imperial Creed with vague distance. All of these factors lead most preachers and Ecclesiarchs to rank Azus the lowest, though they take care to do so privately. Contrary to his low opinion in most of the galaxy, Azus is upheld as a symbol and a nigh-patron saint of the East, especially in Segmentum Atlanticus. Finally, he enjoys great though subtle popularity among the Inquisition, who often places him in opposite to his brother Andezo.

Yucahu Sumakutaa - The Traveler, The Merciless Angel, Demigod of the Void - Although history recounts Yucahu having nothing but disdain and hostility to the new Imperial Creed, since his mission to travel to a new galaxy, he has since been fully adopted into the Ecclessiarchy against the wishes of early Void Eagles. Across the Imperium, he receives prayers and devotions from sailors and voyagers who wish to cross dangerous seas of the Warp. He is upheld as the ultimate example of a Rogue Trader, ever searching out the unknown and has shrines dedicated to him in orbital stations and other void-based civilizations. As humanity's fate continues to take darker turns with the passing millennia, it is a common prayer that Yucahu returns from the stars to deliver the Imperium's people.

Pionus Santor - The Twice-Born, Demigod of Medicine, Guardian of the Seas - Pionus is unusual in that he has survived death once in a new form. No other Primarch has managed to survive death's door besides him, making him a popular figure in worship warding away disease.  Additionally, he is beloved among physicians, healers, and apothecaries. It is not unusual for apothecarions and hospitals to feature Pionus in one of his two aspects on the walls or to post one of his beloved sayings. Of less certainty are the rumors that he is touched by the Aeldari in some vague meaning or form. Finally, Pionus is often contrasted with his Damned brother Morro. Ever since his disappearance, many myths and 'sightings' proclaim that Pionus has traveled into the deep waters to do battle with his kin and to hold him there to protect humanity.

Hectarion Mycenor - The Vanguard, Demigod of Vengeance, The Second Warmaster - It is only because of Hectarion's resistance against the Ecclessiarchy that he is not higher within the informal pantheon. For he is greatly worshipped for his part in the holy Scouring that sent the Traitors fleeing into the Warp and slain many daemons. The Cult of Hectarion flourishes among all warriors and soldiers, but especially for those who are first into the battle. In another aspect, it is his rage and hatred that is often invoked in the war against Chaos. His Cult only grows stronger with each sighting of the mysterious one-eyed prophet, who many believe is an angel of some sorts for the vaunted Demigod.

Daer'dd Niimkiikaa - The Pillar, The First Martyr, Demigod of Metal - Although dead long before the Ecclessiarchy's founding, due to how vigorously the Iron Bears have embraced the Imperial Creed, Daerr'd enjoys retroactive significance. Among his brothers, he is invoked by those who wish to emulate is steadfastness and sheer physical strength. Surprisingly, he has been adopted by the Orgyn as their deity, equaling the importance of the Emperor. Among the rest of the Imperium, he is celebrated for his craftsmanship, many artisans will invoke blessings of Daer'dd over their work. Whenever the Godslayers reappear to spread their sickness in realspace, his name is often invoked in vengeance against them.

Niklaas - The Forger, Tester of Faith, Demigod of Fire - For a great deal of time, Niklaas was the Ecclessiarchy. Assuming control over it not long after the end of the Insurrection, Niklaas proved to be an exacting demigod, measuring the various branches and cults that arose in the aftermath. Those that did not meet his mysterious standards were cast down or brought into the fold through more correct teachings. Many of the mannerisms and beliefs to have survived that period have only done so with Niklaas' support and approval. Outside the Ecclessiarchy, any defender who finds himself under siege or any who wish to build grand fortresses will invoke blessings in his name. Fire is his element bar none, and it sees much usage in the Ecclessiarchy and against the daemonic legions.

Alexandros Darshan VonSalim - The Defender, Divinity of Sanctity, The Warmaster - While cults existed previously, it would be Alexandros' Divinatus that would lend intellectual strength and direction, eventually sparking unprecedented growth. By revealing himself as its author and proclaiming the Emperor's and his true nature, he solidified his position among mortals. Through his sacrifice, evil was denied, and humanity was saved. Only the Emperor, who is at the center of the Imperial Creed outshines Alexandros in the minds of the faithful. All this and the on-going records of miracles ensure Alexandros' importance remains undiminished over the millennia.

Ultra: 2 (Legatine Axe, Mantle of Ultramar)

Adding all those pieces and dividing them by 13 equals 2.5, which makes a mockery of my 3 limit that we're operating under. Even if I exclude the Book 1 legions, the mode is still 2. Only 3 legions have 4 pieces: Salamanders, Alpha Legion, and the Imperial Fists. Only the Salamanders have a restriction like we're discussing. The logic behind each of these three is that the Imperial Fists benefit as the Legion of Terra, so they get extra goodies. The Alpha Legion just have to have their extra gear. And the Salamanders are smiths without equal.

The stats on unique legion units & characters (not counting Primarchs):

SoH: 3 (Reavers, Justaerians, Dreadclaw) - 4 (Loken, Abaddon, Maloghurst, & Tybalt)

AL: 2 (Lerneaen, Headhunter) - 3 (Dynat, Exodus, Skorr)

IF: 2 (Templar, Phalanx) - 2 (Sigismund, Polux)

RG: 3 (Deythan, Fury, Darkwing) - 2 (Maun, Nex)

Ultra: 4 (Suzerain, Fulmentarus, Locutarus, Damocles[?]) - 2 (Telmarchus, Ventanus)

Mean of units is 2.6, while the mode is 2. Mean of characters is 2.9 and the mode is 3.

Legion:  (Wargear + Units + Characters)

SoH: 1 + 3 + 4 = 8 slots

WE: 2 + 2 + 3 = 7 slots
EC: 2 + 3 + 3 =8 slots
DG: 2 + 2 + 3 = 7 slots
IH: 2 + 2 + 3 = 7 slots
NL: 3 + 2 + 3 = 8 slots
Sal: 4 + 2 + 3 = 9 slots
WB: 2 + 5 + 4 = 11 slots
IW: 2 + 2 + 3(?) = 7 slots
AL: 4 + 2 + 3 = 9 slots
IF: 4 + 2 + 2 = 8 slots
RG: 3 + 3 + 2 = 8 slots
Ultra: 2 + 4(?) + 2 = 8 slots

Mean is 8, mode is 8. Word Bearers appear to have some favourtism, while the Iron Warriors appeared to be under-appreciated (just like in fluff). The only two 9-slot Legions are the Salamanders and the Alpha Legion, and it's because of their larger armouries.

I believe our current outline is: 1 Relic - 1 Primarch - 3 Characters - 3 Wargear - 3 units - 2 RoWs.

I want to revise that into two groups. The requires (Primarch, Relic, 2 RoWs) and the slots.

Minimum allocated slots: 1 Wargear - 2 Units - 3 Characters.

That adds up to 6 slots, which offers some leeway into how a legion distinguishes itself.
