FW Dark Angels

Malakithe

I don't collect HH but I like the models.  Maybe I need a refresher on the fluff, but Space Marine power armor is mostly mix and match, right? So I could MkIII armor into my army?  Or has it mostly been lost by M41?

I really like the helmets. Totally agree with Malakithe that they look sinister and are in line with previous art depicting DAs in the HH context. I also like that there are no wings on the helmets - maybe they'll be reserved for specialist HH units, or characters.

As far as 30k to 40k goes they are the 1st legion and known for having a lot of relics and generally old ass gear. I might rock the helms for vets or something like that. But ya the general feel of the helmets is dark and sinister. I really like them. Don't care too much for the torsos or shoulders but I would rock and entire army with just the heads lol

I have to say I really like these. In particular the heads don't seem to conform to any particular mark of armour, I might be tempted to mix a few of the helmets and shoulders into a vet or company command squad. Maybe even just sprinkled through the rank and file.

That said more robes please

Wish they were sold as a complete model. Feels like a bit of a rip off to have to buy the armour and all the upgrades. Maybe selling like this has something to do with the 'truck load of salt' rumors about plastic horus heresy minis.

That said i am interested to see how they look painted up.

Another reason why I don't buy Forge World. I HATE buying things separately.  Sell me complete. I guess they are afraid of sticker shock if everything is tallied all together? GW has no problems doing this, I wonder why Forge World has a problem with it.

Was thinking of picking up the Dreadnaught. Then I see arms sold separately. No thank you.

Why does Forge World sell everything separately? I just don't get it.

Who cares if it was lost by M41. Rule of cool applies. Just do it if you like it. Rule of Cool overrides everything and anything, especially fluff.

The helmets do not scream Dark Angels too me, but are cool looking.   Not sure how they would fit in.  I'd like to see them on some current armor (Mk-V+)

The shoulder pads look pretty much like the current plastic DA pads, (other than being on Mk-II pads)

The torso's are my favorite.  I think I could slap them on my current plastics and they would look fine.  THOSE scream DA to me.

I hate the old style legs, and won't ever use them.

am i the only da player that thinks these helmets look fugly?

the helmets as stated by other people here already dont shout DA at all. the torso's are ok but again, dont shout da.

the shoulder pads are pretty good but as already stated they should have made at least MKIV - V. id buy them for my 40k da but dont think they would fit in. id have to see more images to be sure though.

tbh, i actually prefere the blood angel hemets that i saw previewed a while back.

I like it all. The shoulder pads leave a lot to be desired since they are just like the GW ones, but they still look good.

Also, since so many people want robed torsos, wouldn't the robes cover the MkIV amend earlier armour, making the torso almost useless? Can't any robed torsos be used as long as they're on HH era legs?
