Run into a complication with the felblade - the blue on the turret is very much noticeably different from the blue I've got on the body, and I don't know how to change it. As far as I remember, I've used the same method. Oh well :/ Other than that, recruited a couple more Terrans for the cause, and been working on the store Word Bearer Chaplain. Finished most of the main body of the Fellblade, with an example picture of the sides, just got details to go :D Done some more work on the Chaplain...but forgot to take a picture, Started painting some WE : Go check out 'Do not go gentle into that good night...' if you're interested. Very different from NL, I assure you (will post a single pic here) And found my new absolute fave paint. The FW airbrush NL blue. One coat over a kantor blue basecoat gives a lovely metallic almost colour. Now -4 to fear is brilliant...if only fear was effective... Anyways, enough sobbing about how bad that rule has worked for me, and onto updates! Just about finalised a scheme for my destroyers, however this being the sgt, the others will have hazard stripes on leg rather than symbol. Also tried my hand at (basically) my first OSL lighting effect, think it came out alright. (going for the whole, firing psychic powers from hand thing) Did also just sort out the rest of my plasmas in one big batch, unsure how to do the weird combi plasmas though. They look *really* like fusion blasters. I actually found the plasmaguns much much more easier than expected. Just kinda ran with my lightning scheme, but more space let me build it up a bit more :) cheers man And yeah, I prefer the thought that all the marines customise their armor themselves, so paint their own terror markings and skulls. Love what you have done with the Shields OP although I am not too sure on the corpse with the leg nailed to the shield. Breachers look awesome, perfect look for night lords. I agree with Cthonia though, sorting that one out. No pictures this time, since my camera has decided to go faulty...however in the upcoming days you'll see marines, a few more marines, um...as well as marines? Lots of marines :P (New terror squad, sgt, painting, etc (attempt at metallic blue)) And, something arrived over the break which may help with some of the larger (everything) models! Aeternus Posted January 9, 2016 Author Share Posted January 9, 2016 Cheers Helter was a pain to get it right, but gone over with some more metallic highlights, and if I dare say so, it looks amazing. Finished up the majority of the metal and cloak now, so the weekend will be the base and head. The head's gonna screw me over...there's a reason I stay with helmets. Anyways...the original technicolour dreamcoat! just realised why fear tests are at -3...I mean he has 6 skinned faces on his cloak alone! Edit, not sure if I should bloody it up at all or leave it dryed out...thoughts? Base is gonna be reasonably bloody with the butchered meat, but the model isn't looking too gory...unusually. Aeternus Posted January 13, 2016 Author Share Posted January 13, 2016 Thanks Jimbo and Krieg :) I wanted something to really set the destroyers apart from just black, and felt it suited them rather. 3 will have hazard stripes, while 2 will have the biochem symbol (finding hard to paint) And yeah, with the cape I decided to go something other than the single colour flayed cloak everyone else does. I think it worked :D So, here's my progress on a terror marine, an almost completed curze, and a start on a corpse (pitiful camera tho, so horrendous image) (and yes that is a double volkite...sniper charger!)
