I suppose I can only blame my weak will This will be my thread for my WIP of my Night Lords company, Nocte Canibus, the night hounds. A company almost entirely composed of Terran marines, it looks upon the actions of some within the legion with feelings close to disgust, horrified with what they have become. (Fluff to follow)In part what draw me to this, which I had planned on getting into, was armies on parade. Hopefully that will give me the push I need to paint all the models up to a high standard, and doing so. Aeternus Posted September 13, 2015 Author Share Posted September 13, 2015 @Teban, I'll look into sorting out a proper kinda photography set up, for now I'm using a bad camera in a bad place, so a change might make a good difference :P @Helter, Thank you very much man :) Think I overdid the lightning a bit though, so I've cleared the left shoulder pad back to blue for a transfer. With the fellblade, after going through the fire raptor I think it should be easier, but I remember the gs work on that... anywho, I have lots to hand. (speaking of which, I should put the Raptor up, but that doesn't want to be painted ) Only problem now is deciding if it's a crashed NL thunderhawk being attacked, or a crashed (probably BA or DA) thunderhawk being attacked by NL :/ Anyway, update for today... My WIP on a Moritat and a Sergeant. I discovered the limitations of posing hands with MkIv plate, and as for the Moritat's right hand weapon, that's a volkite serpenta I say (for some reason the mkIV weapon set doesn't have one so I created...something, which looks slightly too large) And then my progress on Sevatar, not sure I like how the cloak has ended, so I'll probably give it another shot in a bit. I feel your log would really benefit from it, as most fraters won't click each and every image to enlarge it to a more usable size. I'm actually a fan of your kit bashed volkite serpenta. At the moment, the choice is small pictures (recent post) or huge pictures (first post). Both of these have disadvantages, but I am inclined for large to show off detail. Just didn't know if huge pictures would put people off :P I do like the DE parts, the blades are wonderful, and I'm looking into some of the more exotic weapons, which certainly wouldn't look out of place. In other news, I underestimated the fellblade kit. It's not quite at the fire raptor level...but trying to sort the sides out could be the death of me I had plans for a glaive as well, but I don't know if my sanity will be up for it Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Personally, I feel that the images in your first post are decently sized, though some would benefit from cropping out the boring stuff like carpet. Aeternus Posted September 17, 2015 Author Share Posted September 17, 2015 the way it's shaping up, I plan to have the thunderhawk as a salamander, so scattered around it will be a few sallies in mk 2 and 3 armour, and a couple of raven gaurd in mk VI armour. All being slaughtered by the Haunter's sons ;) Not much progress on the painting front, just about finished the fellblade. Got the sponsons to do, and also waiting on some instant mold for symbols and magnets for the sponsons. Apart from that...had a bit of a go at Sevatar. And lastly, managed to create one of the hq/praetor/centurions for my cohort. One picture shows the base colour, the other shows the colour I'm making it. Looks awesome Basically follow Augustus' tutorial on flayed skin, but for a much more stretched cloak shape. then before you put it on the model, use a fine hobby knife, and put lines around with scoring to imitate the sown together skin. then I just violently removed it from where it was, resulting in a few rips in the 'sowings'. all there really is :) Skin cloak looks great.
