I was about to say, it's gone very quiet here... This is so unlike Chaos. 

 

 

 

Tbh its been bugging me lol. Was up till 4am painting trim on everything and could have done with some updates to keep the mood flowing :'(

 

Also, could I swap the rhino in my vow for a vindicator? Its a 1st ed era rhino and I'm really not getting a good vibe with it.

Thanks August, they have been a right mission for me! Tbf the Raptor parts (and indeed the DV Chosen bitz) really give old kits new leases of life.

1:30 AM and yep, panting trim again.. again. So close to getting the basecoat stage done on everything. Once that is done then its a black ink fest on everything then pant the flesh and any robes and all the marines are done, then all I need to do is 2 tanks, cultists and a dread.

 

If I get time later on today I will get a WIP shot of everything I have done so far.

StD, why -if you hate doing trim so much- do you do everything in one go? It'll only frustrate you, which can only have a negative effect on your painting quality. I've found that it is far more pleasing to finish stuff in batches, so you get to do the fun stuff in painting, as well as the gratified feeling of having finished something every single time. I imagine your method to yield one batch of sub-par mini's (in your mind, because you know you could have done better yourself) and a feeling of relief more than gratification after having finished. Why no not treat yourself to the joy of finishing two, three, perhaps five mini's really well a couple times? :tu: :tu:

 

Also, it'll spare us your nagging about doing trim each event :P ;)

Because if I do one squad I'll look at the rest and think 'omg more trim to do', I'd rather get it all out the way with in one go.

Not enough pleasures, third time I have drank since feb last year. Though I am managing to basecoat a tank so its not a wasted night after all :D

@Augustus - Heh, nope, it's Derptoad and Happytoad. Derptoad is all, as my friend Darth Bob puts it, "HURRRRR I'MMA TOAD," whereas Happytoad just looks so... happy. He just looks like he's genuinely very excited to be wherever he is, and I think we could all learn from his positive example.

@Slave - Y'know, I dunno if I'm happy to just have the arches there either. I think I'm gonna have to do some freehand or something inside those areas, and I'm considering my options for that at the moment.

I've set aside that Bloodthirster that was distracting me from my Call vow and started on that Dreadnought. Just a little more work on the basecoat and a black wash for now.

I think the order of this is gonna be this Dread, the Sorcerer, the Acolyte, the Knight, then the Plague Toads. Definitely saving the toads for last as a reward for myself, I love painting Nurgle stuff. Might add some cultists to my vow if I finish early but let's face it, I'm gonna be pushing the deadline pretty hard.

Tattoos are done on all 20 Slaangor and I'm doing their fur now.

...then it'll be on to horns, leather, metallics, other pastels for their hair and beards...a lot still to do.

This is the Giant Chaos Spawn. He's built from a DV Helbrute body, and a random assortment of bits that I needed to use. He still has some work to be done, such as reattaching some horns and adding more GS to smooth him out. His name is Dan.

Here are the two 10-man squads. While they are already painted, they are some of my first models, and I have since discovered a much crisper and vibrant painting style. As such, I cannot stand to look at them. For this Call, I will be remodeling alot of them, and repainting them.

Here is the Sorcerer, who is very much in the same predicament. No remodeling here, as I am quite pleased with his covversion, but he will be getting a new paint job.

Renegade Command Squad. Or at least, what is currently assembled. My Traitor Guard is an ongoing side project, but hopefully the Call will give me the motivation to put some paint on them and settle on some bits. Wouldn't want anyone laughing at my Mark of the Lost.

Gross picture is gross. Here is the meat of my Call. The Havocs. While I have four melta gunners, four lascannoneers and a single plasma gunner painted, the Call will get me in gear to get the rest assembled and painted.

And here is what I am most excited about. My Dark Apostle. Converted from the new DA Interrogator Chaplain kit, I am very eager to get him painted. Working names: V'Raunt and Apophis Votan.

Just realised I never got back to replying to this.... Sorry.... At this stage I am thinking just a ten man chaos marine squad. Huge dive I know but much of my last half a month was eaten by surgery recovery so didn't get the time I wanted or needed. Hope thats okay, if not I can always tack another failed siggy in somewhere...

Quick progress (not finish) update

 

Been pretty chaotic with a lot things happen during this week.  I've got a few models to get ready for my local wargaming club event - Rapid Fire that happen soon, just recently rebase two of my Iron Warriors chaos marine units to 32mm base with the other 75+ power armour models to follow getting rebase during the Christmas holidays.

 

Mange to get my Dark Mechanicus crew finish painted today.  I will have the Chaos Guard gunner built & painted before end of October.  Then it just focuse on the Vindicator, IW Sorcerer & Nurgle Lord!!!

I Kurama answer the Call of Chaos and vow to complete 3 skull crushers of knorne before December 15th 2015. If I do this successfully I will receive the Mark of Spilled Blood and continue on the path to ruin. If I fail I’ll wear the Mark of the Lost and I expect no mercy on my soul!
