Wow, ShVagYer, the termies look fantastic - as all your work. A shame their arms fell off during the shoot ;)

The fleshy parts of the helbrute done that way give the model a  'spirit'-like quality, almost like it's an apparition. It's a very nifty solution to the problem you encounter with Chaos Thousand Sons, where everything is supposed to be just empty armour with spirits inside. I really like it! :tu: :tu: :tu:

That's for whenever they are joining Failbaddon on a Black Crusade ;)

Seriously, though: Brilliant work on the Thousand Sons Terminators! Looks like a vintage 'Eavy Metal paintjob -- and I mean that in an entirely positive way!

@Augustus: Thanks! Actually the way I explain mutations & fleshy bits on my TS is that they joined the warband after the Rubric (kind of like Astraeos) and thus they are not just moving sacks of sand in a suit of armour. They are just your regular chaos marines wearing TS colors. But your explanation works too. biggrin.png

@KrautScientist: Hahah yes they are armless in tribute to the Warmaster. :D Thank you, comparing my minis to 'Eavy Metal is a huge compliment. I am both proud and humbled. smile.png

OK guys, I finished the first unit in my vow: the "Mud-loving vanilla Iron Warriors Chaos Lord with an Imperial Fists Deredeo dreadnought as decoration on its base."

More pictures of the other mini on the base can be found here.

I am ashamed to report I will most definitely not finish any of the other units before the end of my deadline. The other unit on its base is part of an army I got quite cought up in. Initially, I vowed this unit to pester the Imperial Fists over at their Imperial Fists Expansion III / counter/CoC event. But they ended up recruiting me and I finished the maximum amount of units with them.

I recognize my failure and will be sure to correct it in ETL V. I swear!!!!

Kind of getting down to the wire here and I've still got the Knight and the Plague Toads to paint up - starting to feel the pressure. Anyway, Acolyte and Sorcerer are done for now. They could both use some touchups (I've already washed down the one horrendously flat fleshybit nail on the Acolyte's shoulderpad) but in the interests of Getting Stuff Done, I think I'm happy enough with them to call them finished. More pics of these guys in my thread.

thamier:  Really like the Abaddon conversion along with the Blood Angels display base.

Uveron:  Spawn & Possessed units are looking really cool.  Is that tracks for the Spawn legs?

How everyone vows getting on with a few weeks left?  I should get the Nurgle Lord & Vindicator build this weekend.

I'm hoping to blitz the rest of the Berzerkers tomorrow night - which would basically leave just the Sentinels and those few extra Noise Marines. Positive at least!

Just need it to be slightly warmer so I can spray those last few things...

It's no wonder us Iron Warriors are so damn paranoid when we are backstabbed at every occasion! furious.gif
