Caillum Posted October 1, 2015 Share Posted October 1, 2015 You can take Solar Auxilia as your Primary Detachment, utilising one of these 3 Force Organisations - Age of Darkness, Castellan or Leviathan. Then you can take Ultramarines as your Allied Detachment. Still allows a flavourful army! Beyond that, no. It overrides the "Choosing Your Army" section of the 7th Edition 40k rulebook. First the No: - FW recomments to use the list building of the BitAoD section of their campaign books, for 1750-3000 points and even higher up. Yes: - FW also says that you CAN use Apocalypse rules for larger battles. They also say you can use unbound and 7th edition list building if you want, and you opponent is ok with it. What ever you do, it's your (and your opponents) game - speak with him, choose ONE way to build your armies (so either Age of Darkness or 40k or Unbound or Apocalypse), don't mix and match Edit: but NO - you can't use multiple AoD charts in one army afaik Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Athrawes Posted November 14, 2015 Share Posted November 14, 2015 Very true, for standard games of up to (about) 3500 points, the Age of Darkness FoC and rites of war works as intended and is great for list building. Above that point level, it gets pretty restrictive (especially around FA and heavy support), which is why my group house rules in something a bit like Apocalypse/unbound. Let me be clear, I'm not saying that you should unbound or do whatever you feel like, but the AoD list building only works up to a certain points level before it becomes tight.
