Subbed... PS those are some great images, where did you get them from?

Google Image Search.

First I typed in Solar Auxilia. Couldn't find any with a deserty color scheme, so I took one of the Ash Scorpions (grey and black) and grey-scaled it. Then added my text. Then Alpha Legion, found that one on Deviantart. Then Cadian Shock Troops. Boom. Pretty much exactly what I was looking for.

Anyway, the plan is going to be 2,000 points of Alpha Legion, 1,500 points of Solar Auxilia, and 1,500 points of Imperial Army. We'll see how it goes.

How did you do that blue/green? I have 2 Inquisitors who I want to do in that colour. msn-wink.gif

It's actually pretty easy. Undercoat with Corax White, wash with P3 Turqoise Ink, wash with GW Coelia Greenshade. Next is a highlight of Vallejo Blue-Green.

Looking good so far dude

Thanks man!

Bonds of Brotherhood: Redux:

Chapter 1:

Feldwebel Gunter Alban cursed as the Imperial dogs renewed their attack. They had been repelled multiple times thus far, the first and second waves merely testing the Gerxian's defenses, but the third had been different. Multiple squadrons of mechanized infantry had been repulsed, but at grueling costs to the Gerxian Empire's Armed Forces defending the walls.

This fourth attempt was completely different altogether. Whereas the previous assaults were staged by the human forces of the Imperium, this was spearheaded by the unholy mutants known as the Legiones Astartes. He could see their squat, boxy Land Raider and Rhino tanks, even from some distance away. They were not the sleek, anti-grav tanks that the Gerxian Armed Forces possessed, they were crude but, Alban admitted, effective.

Rallying his fireteams, Feldwebel Alban took stock of what he had under his direct command to withstand the Imperial scum. Fifty of the best riflemen the Gerxian Empire could muster, three squadrons of grav-tanks, and a cabal of the Hinterland Hoplites. All told, this force had driven off three previous attacks, and Alban was convinced it would see of this one.

He was wrong. Thirty minutes later, he realized just how wrong he was.

The first wave of armoured vehicles reached the bastion walls, mighty demolisher cannons bellowing fire and smoke, blowing chunks out of walls. Lighter tanks with turret-mounted autocannons raked the defenders, causing several teams to abandon their posts completely, their field guns turned to scrap by heavy calibre shells.

By the time the vindicator tanks had blown a wide hole in the ramparts, the second and final wave of vehicles had arrived. The heavier Land Raiders had taken their time reaching the fortress, but now they revved their engines, and raced to the gap in the Gerxian defenses.

Alban bellowed orders, gathering the surviving forces to the spot where five Land Raiders had disgorged their cargo. A ferocious close-range firefight ensued. Imperial bolt and volkite weaponry versus Gerxian Empire plasma rifles.

Alban and his troops fought valiantly, slaying more than a dozen Astartes, but the fight was lost when a lone gunship in granite grey loomed over the battlefield. From the cargo bay jumped eleven figures. Ten of which were armed and equipped similarly, hand flamers and viciously hooked axe-rakes.

The eleventh and final was a good head taller than the rest of the warriors around him. In one hand he carried an enormous spiked mace, easily as tall as Alban was. In the other he carried an ancient and ornate pistol, the double-barrel sparking with caged lightning. Attached to the arm which held his mace was a exotic chain weapon fashioned as a tonfa. His head was hooded in black cloth, casting eerie shadows over his face.

With a bestial roar, Lord Commander Soren Lughaidh charged into the fray, his first swing of his mace ending the life of Feldwebel Gunter Alban, while his Ashen Circle swathed the entire battlefield in fire.

This was how the Iconoclasts of the XVII Legion dealt the first death-blow to the Gerxian Empire's Armed Forces, in fire and blood.

Size comparison. Even though he's up another level, you can still see how tall the Autillion Skorr model is.

  • 3 weeks later...

So, in the wake of the absolutely censored.gif y time I've been having lately, my counselor has recommended I go back to the things I am passionate about. So, here I am.

Some old Bonds of Brotherhooders might recognize this guy's name: Captain Marek Vanya, VIII Legion.
