Grand_master85 and the Angels of Death

Yep, these scars are definitely some of my favourite, if not in the top spot. Much nicer than anything Games Workshop has ever done with them... They definitely come across as battle-scared warriors rather than romantic poets with mongol sabres...

I was looking for some Bionics when I came across some amazing Mongolian heads which I thought would suit you quite well.

You're all incredibly kind, thanks for the good words :-)

Thanks Cthonia, although I'm a bit loathe to use non-FW bits (I've played at Warhammer World a few times this year and not sure of their policy re: third party bits). Also, I'm not the biggest fan of bare heads and I think they look a tad off.

Halberd has turned up so I can do my Praetor conversion this evening and get onto painting the first 3 Sky Hunters. Quiet weekend planned so hoping to also build up my Sicaran Venator.

These are the best looking White Scars I've ever seen! I can't wait to see your Praetor with jetbike soon. I have a suggestion for getting all of the swords shaped exactly the same. Take a sword you've already reshaped that you like the most and make a greenstuff press mold of one side. Once the gs is fully cured you'll be able to heat up a new sword and gently press it into the mold and allow it to cool and stay in the perfect shape. Every new sword will look exactly the same.

Here's the first of many Jetbikes to come, my Sky Hunter Jetbike Sergeant. I've given him the usual tulwar that I'm gonna try and cram onto as man men as possible. Wasn't sure about MK II heads on MK IV bodies, but I think the Scars helmets really work. I'll certainly try and use as many of those as possible.

I've probably over-weathered it, if I'm being honest. Having recently painted 3.5k of Death Guard, I'm probably stuck in that mode of painting! Still, I think it makes the white less stark. Tried to go for an off-White/almost Ivory colour (which probably doesn't show too well on the pictures).

I've currently got 3 more Jetbikes soaking in hot water to scrub, plus a rhino and Sicaran Venator that initially were going to be in my Death Guard, but I wanted to save anything fast or transports for the Scars. I'm also going to get my Praetor on Jetbike sorted now the GK Halberd I had ordered has turned up.

Thank you very much! There's a couple f things I'm not happy with, I need to go over the gold with seraphim sepia to darken it to the same colour as the tacticals (added too much silver to the gold mix).

Haha I did, much to my dogs bemusement :D I've got another 12 Jetbikes (11 regular dudes and a praetor) built, primed and the off-White armour basecoat airbrushed on. Just about to make a start on them now.

Weathering is great...ur boys could be deep into a long grueling campaign. No time to maintain paintwork

You could also paint a shiny squad or 2...to represent fresh reinforcements. Could be a nice contrast

It's been a fairly busy week at work so havnt progressed as much as I'd like to have. Here's my completed Praetor and 2 members of one of my Jetbike squads (for the meantime, till the rest are done, these will be a counts-as Command Squad on bike). I've currently got a 3rd on the table I'm finishing, just working on the final panel lining stages and the plasma cannon Jetbike should be done. I'll get onto the other 3 members of his squad after then.

Wasn't entirely sure on the Praetor's spear to start with, but much happier now there's some colour on it.

Working my way through my army, very slowly. Having a lot of fun painting these chaps, got another WS helmet set, so once I've done the first jetbike squad, I'll get round to finishing the first Veteran squad and paint up their rhino.

Hope you like!
