Edit: I apologize for the formatting

Putting this here, not completely done with options still figuring that out.

Conceptually, based on some 2nd edition fluff I figure much like the chainsword being based on Eldar chain weapons, the Grav Rhino is akin to the Eldar Grav Falcon; and based on what little imagery there is the upper superstructure looks reinforced for additional weaponry and such.

One day, I really wanna commission a Grav-Rhino in Steel Legion colours, preferably based on the Shapeways Grav-Rhino kit with the the Deimos-Pattern hull.

Another really long one. I think that I could cut down the history section substantially if necessary.

Furibundus Class Dreadnought

The precursor to the Furibundus dreadnought was sources from the Terrawatt Clans of Terra, a terror weapon rarely used by the techno-savants. Known informally to their enemies as the ‘Withermaw’, its victims could weaken and fall days after what appeared as a fortunate reprieve. With the coming if the nascent Imperium the warframe was adapted for the use of near-dead Astartes, officially becoming a dreadnought pattern.

However a degree of mistrust between the Terrawatt Clans and the Martian Mechanicum prevented the Furibundus from being produced en masse, and as Terrans who had fought alongside or in such creations dwindled, so did the incentive for any such agreement. Unlike their techo-barbarian forebears or the callous armies of the Mechanicum, non-Terran recruits seldom saw the need for a dreadnought so lethal in its radiation output that it could not be repaired without shutting down its reactor. For a time the Furibundus was only seen to any significant degree within the XXth; where their use had only been moderately restrained by the Primarch Andezo as opposed to being abandoned entirely.

This discovery of the Primarch Raktraa Akarro shifted the paradigm dramatically. Unlike the Shepherds of Eden, the original VIIth, the White Devil and his soldiers took a savage glee in the effects caused by the dreadnought. Soon, their demand outstripped both the supply and the regulation upon the Terrawatt Clans’ productions. They began to pressure whatever Mechanicum sect they could to produce the chassis based on those few still available, and in response several if their like minded compatriots echoed this to lesser degrees. The brutality of wars such as the Rangdan exterminations only reinforced this. The power and influence displayed by the Astartes in doing this proved an all too apt concern for the mortal lords on Terra, concerns soon proven right.

Most Furibundus pilots already originated from a Legion’s Destroyer Cadre, thus being no stranger to the lethal and long lasting effects of the weapons they wielded.Within their shielded sarcophagi they were immune to their own emanations and in battle few dared to step within their reach. Even in death, the destructive aftermath of their fall could meant that they could claim their slayer from beyond the grave.

Pretty good overall, but I'm not a fan of how you say only the predators use them for a time, until raktra is found - other legions would be loathe to use it, but would be prepared to use them should it be needed

There's also a "ciwe" which i don't know if it's a typo or a word I don't know

This was trimmed down a bit, so expe t that there may be some odd phrasing where I was trying to save words.

Grav-Rhino

The ‘grav-rhino’ would appear to have originated within the armouries of those military arms known as the ‘Talons of the Emperor’, namely theCustodians and Sisters of Silence. While there is no record of the transport’s initial manufacture, numerous reports and witnesses depict the modified Rhinos bearing the Emperor’s chosen in the early days of the Great Crusade. With the inception of the Coronus Grav-Carriers and Kharon Pattern Aquisitors, its role within such hallowed units was rendered redundant.

At some point a portion of the remaining Grav-Rhinos came into the possession of others, possibly in the form of gifts given to those whom the Custodes trusted. If so, their trust was violated. Under instruction from the Primarch Daer’dd, Tricendian experts in gravitics discovered how to replicate the vehicle, almost certainly against the wishes of the Custodians. Daer’dd’s intent was not to bolster his own power, but to enrich the Legions as a whole. This proved a grievous error. His largesse ensured that Akira, Lasaris and other worlds bound to the Insurrectionists also possessed means of production. The Custodians themselves never commented, but to the councilors on Terra it was a source of disquiet. Already uneasy over the very existence of ‘Astartes Empires’ such as Tricendia and Mycenae, that they could display such a degree of military independence proved yet another blow to the trust between Terra and its supposed protectors.

Despite their utility, Grav-Rhinos lacked the same degree of robustness and reliability that made its cousin the workhorse of the Legions. Instead they became the hallmark of strike formations. Supported by the harrying fire of landspeeders and jet-bikes, such units exploited the disarray of the enemy to seize critical objectives. Gliding in from the sea and other terrain impassable to the standard Rhino gave them an element of surpise used to encircle a bewildered foe or strike deep behind their lines.

Just so that I've gotten a summarisation this written down somewhere other than discord, the decided lineup for the story anthologies is as follows:

Intro Anthology-The Dinner, Great Games, Prospero, Baal
Harbringers Anthology- The Colleges, Ghost Crusade, Caged Lightning, Fraught
Halcyon Wardens Anthology-Happiness is..., Beneath the Surface, The Warmaster's Work, Ascension

Currwntly they all( bar perhaps the Colleges and Caged Lightning) need a checking over for Canonicity issues. Fraught needs editing to be more Harbringer centric( The IB and BoU portions can be reused) and the Warmaster's work may need editing doen a bit, but definiteley needs the Sarum magi replaced by Eskut magi.

Edit: In addition, for the Great Games Wilhym and the Jackals need replacement with Nomus and the Steel Legion. Alexos needs to be replaced with Socraes.

You're missing two Primarchs from that list, Raktra and Nomus.

Ak. Nomus still needs to be added to the Great Games/Dinner himself to be fair.

I also realised that I still have to go through Baal.

Because I have a terrible memory I completely forgot to post a summary of the grav rhino discussion that we had on discord before Christmas.

TLDR: The Turret option won't be included, so it will effectively be just a floating rhino with two pintle weapons.

Alright. A quick summary of tonight's crunch discussion featuring the Arigus Consul and Vindicator expanded weapon options.

Vindicator:

After some consideration only the Frag Bombard will be added to the Vindicator Squadron as an option. As the feeling was that the Legions having access to the Vanquisher Cannon would be stepping on the toes of the Solar Auxilia list a little bit too much. The Frag Bombard seems to be a bit more effective against infantry, but significantly less so against vehicles when compared with the demolisher cannon, so we decided to make it a free swap.

Arigus Consul:

The Arigus Consul is pretty much a BS5 Legion version of the Auxilia Tank Commander. The major change is that instead of the Leadership benefit of the Tank Commander the Arigus will have an ability to improve it's own tank/squadron. The final cost came out to 70 points.

Allied Matrix Banner Quote:

"Often, have the Legions been described, not as simple marches of fighting men, but akin to the very forces of nature unleashed. Much as the ancient man could only yield in awe to these primordial powers, so too have the enemies of the Imperium have broken beneath these titanic forces. What then is the strength and cunning of the soul who can meld these often-contradictory elements into a single, overwhelming tempest?

Dawn of the Imperium

As mighty and as gifted as the Emperor, even He alone could not rule the newly-born Imperium. As the Imperium was born from war, so too would its first governing body form from the violence as the War Council. This body consisted of the Emperor's most successful generals and his most able administrators. Malcador, known as the Sigillite, stood above this august body as the Emperor's left hand, surrounded by rumour and secrecy. Only the Emperor truly understood from whence this mysterious man had come from, who might have even been kin. Whatever the reason, the Emperor charged Malcador, a man of scholars with a priestly bearing, with overseeing the Palace and Court, all the while forming the precursor to what would become the Administratum. Even in those early days, it was a monumental task as all of Terra had been freed from war and now devoted itself to unrelenting production and planning as the Emperor turned His eyes toward the heavens.

It was as Terra readied itself for war among the stars that a miracle of galactic proportions occurred. The warp storms that had frustrated and debilitated humanity's former interstellar empire for over five thousand years were blown away by a cataclysmic yet unknown event originating from within the Immaterium. The sheer timing and magnitude of this event suggested divine providence, inciting many to believe that the Emperor was a deity Himself, regardless of how often He denounced such claims. The galaxy now invited travel once again, and the Emperor's mighty forces were ready to accept the invitation as their eyes turned to the other planets within the system as their destination. The Great Crusade had begun.
