My main opponent will be a world eater army with 3 assault claw drop pods. So I'm being assaulted turn one. Anyway onto the list. Row: Decapitating Strike HQ 1x Praetor: Cataphractii Term. pair of ravens talons 170pts Command Squad: 5x Cataphractii Term. 4x Raven talons. 1x reaper auto cannon + chain fist 340 points. In Fast attack Storm eagle Dark Wing 275 pts Troops 2x tactical squads: Apothecary with aurgury scanner and artifier armour 420pts Elites 1x mortis dread with kheres assaults 185pts 2x laser destroyers 110pts. Caillum Posted November 2, 2015 Share Posted November 2, 2015 Firstly, you better remove the points costs from the updated list, as per the forum rules. Secondly, you're pumping a lot of points into a very small number of models! - Raven's Talons on the Command Squad are cool, but a big cost - if you're set on it, taking a single chainfist/plasma blaster guy is a good idea. - Jump pack Destroyers are also one of the more expensive units in the game, but they are cool! I'd drop the missile launchers to make them less expensive. Finally, you're running Decap Strike, so find a way to give the Tacticals Drop Pods for some accurate Deep Strike goodness! And no, no-one can Assault from Deep Strike on Turn 1. Squeaky Posted November 3, 2015 Author Share Posted November 3, 2015 Cheers mate for the help or my other idea was drop Corvus Corax and the Deredaro and take two contempors in a talon with 2x plasma blasters and a chain fist each in pods with two recon squads all with shotguns and Melta bombs maybe a vox in rhinos outflanking with a heavy 10 man support Squad with 10 volikite culverains? Caillum Posted November 3, 2015 Share Posted November 3, 2015 Recon Squads aren't good. Especially when you have Mor Deythan! They're better in every way! Take 5 with combi-flamers in a Rhino. Infiltrate, Scout, Move 6" and disembark. Use Fatal Strike giving your combi-flamers Shred and Rending. Place 5 Templates. Drink your enemies tears. :) Dreadnought Talons can only take pods if they consist of a single Dread - 1 Talon of 1 Dreadnought and 1 Dreadnought Drop Pod. If you want to hit tanks with them, dual claws with dual graviton guns is the way to go! Corax is a Wild Card. If you want him, go nuts I say! He doesn't really need a squad to protect him either. But don't take him and a Praetor (unless he's Alvarex Maun), as you're paying a premium for 2 Masters of the Legion. And Deredeo's are brilliant! Really worth keeping.
