BionicBrain Posted December 22, 2015 Share Posted December 22, 2015 Heya folks! With the seasons soon upon us, what better way to spend it than with a new wee project! The scum of the universe, a penal legion filled with the worst of the worst still allowed under the flag of the imperium, or just a mutant bord the wrong way, feels like a gang that could have alot of personality and great conversion opportunities! The army will be a small gang of veteran guardsmen, perhaps with some added mechanized support, depending on how long i will keep my focus up! The legions name comes from the region in Segmentum Tempestus, Furya Sector, where the recruits are drawn from, and is the first and only penal legion from that sector. The legion was formed as a despreate measure to combat a Waagh that was passing trough the sector, and all able men were needed to ensure the survival of the imperial worlds. Being deployed in the worst war zones and against overwhelming opposition, the legionnaires that come back are among the toughest the sector has to offer. So, on to what a wip thread is all about, the pictures!So far i have assembled and begun painting 5 legionnaires. BionicBrain Posted December 23, 2015 Author Share Posted December 23, 2015 Thanks guys! I'm away over the holidays, so I'm unable to get any new pics up until friday. But at least all orders got delivered before the office closed, so I can build alot more of the Furyans! Uveron: two sets of plastic rods/cylinders, one larger for the collar, then I cut 1 mm pieces of a smaller rod and glued them on the larger, not that complicated! When I'm happy with the skin, I plan on adding some tattoos as to make them even more recognizable as inmates! I'm not sure on how to paint the weapons, tho I'm thinking of mellowing them down in a gray or black tone, to let the orange be the main focus of the models. What do you guys think? I've also managed to put together some more Furyans, along with the infamous Captain Rowe himself! The idea with the convict number is that the first 3 signs are the prison planet they originated from, for example, Captain Rowe was serving his time on Siwenna II, or SI2. The 4 signs following the planet are the inmates personal designation, and the only name that is kept in the records. I have some loose drafts on some background on the Furya Sector, maybe I'll add it in future post to beef out the fluff on the Furyan 1st! As always, C&C is appreciated, if you have an inmate you think might fit the 1st, please do tell, I might just build it when my own imagination is lacking!
